Who said you can't win with Desert? I'm ashamed that there isn't 4 copies in every deck. So this deck is a tribute to Desert.

Desert + Fungusaur Attack, then after combat, tap Desert for a +1/+1 or two (Thanks Hardened Scales)

Desert + Vhati il-Dal Make a creature have 1 toughness at end of combat and kill it with fire!

Scavenging Ooze re-uses those creatures killed with your super-awesome Desert and gets a +1/+1 or two (yay Hardened Scales again).
