Commander: Surrak Dragonclaw

This quarantine is turning out to be longer than I expected, so I decided I would try to make every commander in my favorite color combination, Temur.

Yasova Dragonclaw is pretty cool and follows a pretty specific formula; steal creatures temporarily and then sacrifice them immediately to gain some neat effects. Sacrifice decks almost always focus on black so it's fun to see one that doesn't, but I realized that the deck wasn't as fun to build as it was to play, so I instead decided to do something unusual. Yasova's card art features the Temur frontier, a place based on Siberian Winter, so I decided to make a deck based on snow.

Right now the deck has more snow permanents than it needs. As I figure out the identity of the deck through some matches on cockatrice, I'll reduce the number of snow permanents and replace them with cards with better mechanical synergy. I've chosen not to include cards that are themed on winter but not actually snow cards, because I want this deck to fit an odd theme already and don't care to limit it more just for aesthetics.

Forget everything I said about Yasova. I'm going with Surak now. I don't like Surrak but I found the snow permanents were so powerful as a group that it wasn't worth it to play Yasova herself when I could just play another snow permanent instead. Surrak gives the sorts of generic bonuses that will almost always be helpful. Might change my mind again later.
