Creature (1)

Artifact (1)

In keeping with the theme of The Scorpion God , this deck is all about the -1/-1 counters. In particular through wither and activated abilities to place counters. This deck idea is heavy black with a splash of red. I based the deck first on suggestions from EDHREC and then pruned it down before making some personal changes.

This is still very much a work in progress. It looks like it should work but I feel like it needs to be tightened up better. Part of me also really wanted to find space for Desert of the Fervent and Desert of the Glorified but two more single colored taplands just because I want more cycling doesn't seem to be a smart idea. Grasping Dunes runs into the problem of being better if I could field more and, similarly, Ifnir Deadlands wouldn't work to full effect in an EDH/Commander format due to the minimal Desert lands that could be run here.

I apologize for the bad, punny Shakespeare deck name. Couldn't think of anything better.

So, as per the meta at my store... apparently the few infect cards I've included in this list gets people freaked out and not wanting to play against this idea (whether or not its even a decent deck). And I kinda don't blame them since its a more casual store (despite some of the silly shenanigans and BS i've seen people pull off).

SO... I'm thinking the easy cuts are Phyresis, Fallen Ferromancer, and Grafted Exoskeleton. Just need to figure out what in place of them.

Thinking maybe remove Necropede for a similarly cheap Festering Mummy. Plague Myr could change to Dusk Urchins even though that throws off my curve slightly and removes a mana rock but adds possible draw.

A replacement for Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon is tough. Possibly replace with Grief Tyrant or Spread the Sickness for similar CMC.

I don't want to remove Core Prowler because it provides one of the few Proliferates available in the deck. So that will stay and people will deal with it. Hell, I'd probably mostly be using it because I want it to die to a blocker if not sac'd to something.

Similarly, Glistening Oil combos well with things by giving a few cards consistent -1/-1 that can be used to good effect. So I'd rather not remove that even if I do also have Torture.
