This deck is built on combos and synergy between elementals and enchantments. It should play out to be mid-range the majority of the time with an occasional early win given the right opening hand. Major Combos:- Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Everlasting Torment : Everlasting Torment does not allow life gain for all, makes all damage unpreventable and all damage is dealt as though its source had Wither. I did allot of research and found that by comboing this with Melira, my creatures will take damage in the form of Wither, but Melira's ability negates the -1/-1 counters allowing my creatures to block any combat damage and infinitely. Trample damage would still carry over to me though and wither damage to a player is treated as regular damage. The -1/-1 counters only applies to damage dealt to creatures. Spells that target damage at players directly (burn spells, etc.) is treated as normal damage Which leads into the next combo.- Leyline of Sanctity + Greater Auramancy : LoS makes you unable to be targeted by opponent spells and I included 4 in this deck to increase the chance of having it in my opening hand so I can play it for free. LoS with Greater Auramancy and Fists of the Demigod means I along with my enchantments and enchanted creatures cannot be targeted directly. - Crumbling Ashes + Everlasting Torment Allows me to kill one of my opponents creatures each turn provided they took combat damage already. Also, if they have taken with damage then Kulrath Knight keeps them from attacking or blocking. Elemental Synergy/Mana Ramp:- Ashenmoor Liege and Incandescent Soulstoke buff everyone except Melira, Sylvok Outcast- Animar, Soul of Elements and Smokebraider provide much needed early game mana ramp by turn 3. I also included the Evolving Wilds along with Prismatic Omen to help with mana ramp. Prismatic Omen seemed to broken to be true, but I looked at the rulings on magiccards.info and it does make all of your lands all basic land types that you can tap for any color mana (5/1/2008: Each land you control will have the land types Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest. They'll also have the mana ability of each basic land type (for example, Forests can tap to produce G). They'll still have their other subtypes and abilities.) Flamekin Harbinger is a potential turn one drop that lets me retrieve other elementals from my library. I would pull either Smokebraider or Animar, Soul of Elements.
