I love the deck. I have been thinking of cards that would be good to save your Battlefield Thaumaturge with hexproof and still get some value. One of the best is probably Retraction Helix . Any other suggestions? In some situations including him in the tapping would be fine I'm sure.

Meetreality88,thanks! I'll have to check it out.

Scorprix, Silverblade Paladin is a good card, but it isn't standard legal. I would also disagree. When Battlefield Thaumaturge isn't out I still have a great lineup of aggro weenies with plenty of spells to get damage past my opponent. Although I think I will add Mutavault .

fightkiing, yeah I am not sure what the best card would be, I am definitely open to suggestions. Retraction Helix could work but I am not sure. I domt mind tapping him as well because he isn't one of my offensive cards.

Thanks everyone! I can't believe how well this deck is doing!

I don't have a lot of respect for Heroic, but I think this is the kind of deck that could take advantage of it well - Gridlock and Glimpse the Sun God can target your own attacking guys even as they tap down before the opponent can defend. That's free Heroic!

Fabled Hero could be a huge powerhouse, and holy crap, Phalanx Leader ! Even Triton Fortune Hunter could net you some card advantage since an aggro deck like this often dumps its hand very quickly.

Long_Con, and your sneaky _, great ideas! I will try to at least fit in Fabled Hero and Phalanx Leader to give me more win cons. Triton Fortune Hunter could be good but I'm not sure if there is room for him.

Thanks to everyone else for the likes!

Hey I like it! +1, and I recently made a deck similar to this but with added red. True American Heroes, check it out if you want.

Hey I love this deck, I'm just point out something amazing is that you can cast your tap spells during declare attackers phase, after you've made your declarations but haven't moved to the next phase, in addition to the opposing creatures you can tap yours to activate heroic and gain 1/1 counters while the attacks still to through

Nice, I like the creature heavy aggro aspect of this deck. I made a deck similar to this, ERMAHGERD it's THERMATURGE!. I playtested your deck vs. mine, and obviously they are similarly matched, but my Artisan of Forms gave me the edge I needed against yours. Give her a playtest, she has proven to be invaluable in almost every playtest I have tried out so far.

The Phalanx Leader is a really nice touch to this theme. +1 from me.

@THbruuu You can only target your permanents once with both Gridlock and Glimpse the Sun God because if it's tapped down already then it becomes an invalid target. Also you can't target more than once per creature with something like Launch the Fleet (They couldn't make it that overpowered lol xD) and I think someone said something about targeting your guys with Glimpse the Sun God while attacking? This wouldn't work as well because as you move in the step in is a state-based action so it can't go on the stack or anything and you wouldn't be able to swing with your guys if you did that. Just wanted to let you know about these rules because there seemed to be a lot of confusion in the comments section lol xD Anyways keep working hard and I love this idea! +1

Curse of the Swine with 1 Battlefield Thaumaturge on board, turn all your opponent's creature into token for UU. Then you cast Detention Sphere on the boar tokens. Then you swing with Launch the Fleet . Gee Gee for 5 mana.

6 mana, sorry, got carried away =p

Long_Con says... #15

mdw2402, you are mistaken.

You can declare and tap your attackers, and then target them with Gridlock or another spell that taps them, and they will still be attacking. Only if the spell said "Tap X untapped creatures" would this not be possible (unless Vigilance).

For Gridlock to stop attacking creatures, it would need to be cast before attackers are declared and tapped.

The trick of activating Heroic with those spells is legal.

Really love this deck, very nice job. The only potential weakness I see is the lack of card draw. This deck relies heavily on the Battlefield Thaumaturge -- if you don't draw into one then your tap down spells and Launch the Fleet are not nearly as effective. Maybe make room for a Bident of Thassa or two ?

+1

Grimwolf79, you can just throw in 4x Ratchet Bomb instead making it 5 mana, as seen in my sideboard ERMAHGERD it's THERMATURGE!

First off, sorry everyone! I've been really busy recently so I haven't been able to get on as much as I would like, but it is awesome to see how much this deck has gone up! #3 on tappedout with 63 likes is awesome :) also, sorry if I don't address everyone directly, there have been a lot of comments!

Fitzig23 I will see about testing your deck tomorrow, it does seem good! I will have to test out Artisan of Forms

Krakshot I'll definitely look once I get the chance!

mdw2402 thanks for the heads up, while I don't think I ever said anything about targeting a creature multiple times, I don't want anyone to be mixed up!

Long_Con thanks for clearing everything up about the heroic interaction!

It might be worth playtesting both Tethmos High Priest and Vanguard of Brimaz . The first because more than half of your creatures including the very much needed Thaumaturge can be revived by it easily in this deck. The second I'm starting to think can be better than Precinct Captain in these kind of builds simply because you don't have to hit you're opponent to gain that token. I'm not suggesting them i just think it might be worth playtesting.

Wow, beakedbard may be on to something with that Tethmos High Priest !

I really like the idea of Retraction Helix as a protector of the Thaumaturge, giving it that added bonus of being able to return something to their hand in addition to protecting it with the heroic trigger. Same mana cost as Gridlock in a given situation, but also adding that extra bonus instead of just tapping it for nothing.

As far as Hour of Need goes, I think having some main deck is a very good idea. In all honesty, turning every 1/1 into a 4/4 flier is not all that necessary. Even turning 2 or 3 into 4/4's would be huge and not all that big of a mana investment. I wouldn't add it as a four-of alongside Launch the Fleet , but I certainly wouldn't hesitate to add 2.

So really, all I would change would be Retraction Helix for Gridlock

and maybe 2 Hour of Need for 2 Glimpse the Sun God ?

Otherwise this entire deck looks sick and is a deck type that I hope becomes a serious thing. It looks pretty damn fun to play with.

so i didnt read all the comments cuz there are a toooon. but i really like the deck (upvoted for sure) and i have some suggestions. First, you have so many hard cast white creatures you should have much more plains than islands. I think this mechanic can really be even further maximized using the heroic ability like you kind of do. I love frontline medic but I think you could throw in more Ajani's Presence - I'd probably run a full set with all the removal hype. I think the rootborn defenses is good cuz it will probably cost less (unless you only protect one creature) but still triggers heroic. Plus with your curve, youll probably have the mana sitting around to include more targets and trigger more heroic. also consider Battlewise Hoplite for more heroic, lovely scry, and a solid two drop (I might prefer over the precinct captain). These thaumaturge 'overloaded' spells will really be an interesting tactic, especially with heroic! So I super dig your idea. Azorius Charm is a fun one too I might side. I'd also suggest running 3-4 d-spheres.

check out the deck I'm running in standard Keranos's Storm and upvote if you like too

I don't know if it was some bad draws or what, but I absolutely wrecked this deck five times in a row with a mono red burn deck I built recently. And on your deck, it was bad whenever you got one of your WW creatures and didn't have that second white needed.
