Still a nice deck though! :)

I'm Loving it!! Great Deck! I think I however would personally substitute - 4x Hallowed Fountain + 4x Temple of Enlightenment for the Scry and - 2x Brimaz, King of Oreskos + Daxos of Meletis it doesn't have the heft but adds a chaos factor + the little bit of life gain with some decent evasion. maybe as a sideboard also Brimaz is expensive and I'm kinda broke, Lol.

i would highly reccomend Hour of Need , it is very useful for getting rid of a few of your mini creatures for giant buffers or even getting rid of others gods even. i would definately add it in, 1/1 solly -------> 4/4 flying sphinx for cheap mana. a must have for this deck.

So many +1's (including mine), yet so few comments. Fun deck, I was having the same idea but you saved me the trouble by making this decklist. Even though I understand why you don't run temples (too slow), when I playtested your deck I had quite a lot of trouble to cast cards like Fabled Hero , Phalanx Leader or Brimaz, King of Oreskos due to their restrictive mana cost. I think it's either full-aggro mode; 4x Mana Confluence and 3 less 3-drops or adding Temple of Enlightenment . I think the 7 "tap X creatures" can be good as heroic triggers or alpha strike but 7 is a bit too much. Maybe replace some with Hidden Strings ? Its cost is reduced by the thaumaturge and helps untap lands or blockers.

And of course I'm not suggesting to replace your 3-drops with Mana Confluence , just cheaper creatures :P

I definitely agree with you pcvogel. Hidden Strings would be fun in this deck and will likely net you mana. We could even use it to double a white source in a sense by tapping it then untapping with Hidden Strings using a blue. There are so many great interactions in this deck that I am definitely making either for myself or a friend.

pcvogel, there were many comments, he cleared them out just yesterday. :)

I think that the main problem of this deck is card drawing. I've tried to fix it with this: I choose what to tap and draw . Any way, plus one

Instants counters?

Alright! I mixed things up a bit and will try playtesting to see if I like the changes. Thanks everyone!

lastmoonflower what do you mean?

April 28, 2014 1:25 p.m.

What I mean is you go to Gridlock the opponent but they can still cast instants before that happens whether its a kill card or a burn

pcvogel I had some of the same concerns with casting the double white spells.

Check out my build: Post-Journey U/W Heroes.

I really think the U/W aggro decks have a serious shot at contending.

Gods Willing is much better for heroes than Brave the Elements . It triggers heroic and you get the scry. Also Aqueous Form and Ethereal Armor are must haves. Check out my azorios heroic deck it my give you some ideas

canadianbaconVG I agree but with this deck in particular you would be surprised how effective Brave the Elements is. Through playtesting against my deck ERMAHGERD it's THERMATURGE!, that was one card he had on me that I didn't. I playtested vs this deck several times and he could either prevent me from tapping all of his creatures or he could get past my wall of 1/1 soldiers by giving them protection from white. My deck had more instants than his at them time, so I was able to get ahead in a majority of the games. But he has changed his list since then, and it looks more versatile than it did before. I would probably run Brave the Elements as well to get the last swing in at the end of the game if I had as many white creatures as he does. Personally, I think 3x Brave the Elements is the perfect number. Kudos to you THbruuu you have done some nice fine tuning here. I would give another +1 if I could!

I would also like to say that dropping the majority of your creatures to 2CMC was a very smart move. I bet it's running very well right now. I am going to have to give her a play test again later.

If you put in Fabled Hero for the double strike, I'd suggest replacing him with Phalanx Formation . Heroic trigger and all your creatures gain double strike. It's a little expensive in terms of mana though, and you might not have enough for that, Glimpse the Sun God , and Launch the Fleet .

SkitZaY says... #17

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but are you aware that if you got to combat and declare attacks, and then glimps the sun god / gridlock all creatures, including your heroic ones, you will trigger heroic and still be attacking. When I playsted, this was fantastic with Phalanx Leader and Battlewise Hoplite in play.

Hidden Strings for Battlefield Thaumaturge (or to trigger ANY of your heroic stuff twice) would be awesome.

I'm looking at some specific match-ups that seem likely to give these heroic decks trouble. Seems the most likely candidates are R/G Monsters and Naya/Junk Hexproof Decks. What specific strategies have you considered for these matchups?

mtgbass says... #24

forbiddenvoid My burn deck absolutely wrecked this thing going 4-0. It seemed like this deck got mana screwed each time because it would never have a white mana at the time it needed it.

Long_Con says... #25

Given that feedback, I looked at your mana base. I think that a playset of Temple of Enlightenment is a good idea, and here's why: You're not necessarily a first turn play kind of deck.

You may have a lot of 1-drops according to the chart to the right, but your only real first turn plays are 4 Soldier of the Pantheon and 2 Favored Hoplite . Replace Islands with Temples and just play a Plains first if you want a turn-1 creature.

The Temples would be an important mana fix for you, because you want heavy white, but also heavy blue for Hour of Need .
