Derevi, Empyrial Tactician Wizard control

This is a bant control deck that focuses around slowing the board down and controlling what enters the field and what doesn't. Most cards are focused around card draw, countering and recursion.

Themes and strategy

StaxThe deck features a power +3 stax theme, meaning that anything with power 3 or greater will get slowed down or removed quite easily through cards like: Meekstone + Crackdown . The creature base of the deck is also build to circumvent this disadvantage. 21/29 creatures are immune to meekstone and 26/29 creatures are immune to crackdown. Cards like Elspeth, Sun's Champion + Retribution of the Meek allow you to clear the board of any fatties, while retaining your smaller creatures

WizardsThe wizard theme in this deck allows you to do what blue does best. Drawing cards and countering spells. Almost every wizard in the deck is dedicated to these 2 powers.

Derevi synergizes well with the following cards:

Birthing Pod : Allows me to tutor any 4 cmc creature such as Glen Elendra Archmage + Venser, Shaper Savant etc.... to deal with threats on instant speed or get out some utility guys. After that you can sacrice the 4 cmc creature for a 5 mana cmc creature such as Prophet of Kruphix or Reveillark making your board state even stronger.

Voidmage Prodigy: Essentially infinite counters as long as u got mana

Gilded Lotus + Ashnod's Altar or Deadeye Navigator : Infinite mana.
