krunchyfrogg but I wouldn't want to drop two by turn three because I want to drop a Silverfur Partisan by turn three, or a Howlpack resurgence turn three and then Silverfur Partisan on the field with a mana open. : P

I see you mentioning that you're up to revision 11, but the "UPDATE" section up top only has it listed up to revision 9. Am I missing something? D:

Have you ever thought about throwing in some Skin Invasion  Flip ? It's not wolves but imagime tagging someone buff spawning tokens, burning the enemy and spawning an extra 3/4 in the process ?

So i tried this deck at my fnm, and i got crushed, i never drew any creatures, i didnt have enough card draw to find my creatures, zada or silverfur would always get burned by a spell, silkwraped, or stasis snared and then i could just never find another one of them again. But this being said im still new to magic and it was my first time playing this deck. Any tips on things to just remember about this deck?

Just curious: is there a reason there are only two Game Trails and one Arlinn Kord  Flip in the deck?

Onikrex I don't make an update with every revision lol : Pisaac198198 sorry to hear your luck. In it's current state, there are Seven draw spells main board which is quite a lot. This deck, like any deck, you can figure out how to match and improve your play style with it the more you play it. It's also important to sideboard in spells that deal with the problems or at least keep hands that will allow you to out pace problems. The worst I've done with Zada is place Fourth out of 20+ people, going 3-1 and only losing to a Bant company. Take a while to play test the deck against other decks, constantly look at your sideboard to see what spells would be better against things you can deal with, and don't always empty your hand if you're not going to do a ton of damage. I constantly hold spells and mana back to pump my creatures out of trouble. It's going to be tricky if you're both new and you're play the deck for a first time at the tourney.

This Friday we did Chaos draft and I went 4-0 and got first place, winning $150 worth of Cards. Chaos draft you draft packs you pick and pay for from any set. What I did beforehand was simulate a couple of drafts on Tapped Out beforehand, and because of that I knew what cards would be better to pick than other. So, I'm advising with my experience and preparation is that you're always going to do better with preparation and understanding of what you need to do and not do at what times so you can make more informed decisions and educated guesses. Welcome to Magic, it's a wonderful game, and know Preparation always gets you ready. (:

krunchyfrogg Arlinn Kord isn't the game winner, she just helps. I'd rather dedicate other slots to other spells that help me pump out wolves, draw cards, and Utilize Zada and Silverfur who are the whole points of the deck. As Far as Game Trails, I've got 21 lands and 28% of the lands are specialized (evolving wilds + Game Trail). I don't what to get to heavy on specialized lands because I want most of the lands to be reliable. The most I'd do is add in three Cinder Glades, but even then that means almost half of my lands would be specialized. I want to be in the situation where if I need one more mana to pump my creatures like crazy to win the game I'm not going to be drawing something that is going to disrupt that. Lol : P

Out of curiosity, why are there no copies of Westvale Abbey  Flip? Did it not playtest well? Would the deck run okay with two copies of it instead of Kozilek's Return in the sideboard? (I have two copies of the former, but am finding it hard to find copies of the latter)

Just want to point out that Display of Dominance kills blue or black planeswalkers too, not just enchantments; for my Jund deck that's been its biggest and best payoff, especially against Esper control. Don't forget. :)

Wanted to give you an update on how the deck faired out even tho I don't have some of the cards on your list.

Round 1 against G/R werewolves was truly lucky in card draw. Game 1 was a blowout with 46 trample damage with Zada and silverfur on the board. Game 2 was simply just scourge wolf workin it with pump spells. I won round 1 fairly easy.

Round 2 against bant company... 1st game the opponent got some spectacular hand and just wrecked my wolves. Reflector Mage killed it. I had a crappy hand all the way through. Game 2 I was wrecked as I drew 7 straight land which is odd considering I only have 21 land in the deck.

Round 3 against G/w tokens. Lost both games due to crappy card draw and Avacyn coming out wrecked me. Had no way to deal with it.

Round 4 was a bye

Round 5 was very interesting. Played against black and red (not sure what I was playing against but I lost both games. Game 1 was super close and scourge wolf was just nasty. Had delirium and was swinging like crazy but he just pulled out creature after creature to block. He had 2 life and killed everything I had. I had 2 creatures the whole time and drew pump after pump. He ended up winning bc of Kalitas, Goblin dark dwellers and olivia. Great first game but sadly I lost. Second game was mana flooded again and lost painfully.

I still like this deck and when it hits it hits hard. I have to say luck was not on my side that night. Being experienced with magic doesn't mean anything if your combo pieces don't get set. Also 99% of the decks I played were def pro tour caliber and my opponents got some amazing top decks and card draws.

Lostkause That sounds like awful luck. Round Three I have Kozilek's Return on sideboard for GW tokens as well as all the burn. Round 5 I have the same stuff, but I also have three lightning axes as well as moonlight hunt. Sorry about your luck. Last time I played Zada I went 3-1. This very last friday we did a Chaos Draft which I won 4-0 and I won All 15 Gods there are, so I didn't get to play my Zada. : P

Not sure what chaos draft is but nicely done. Out of all the games I played it seemed like the answers weren't there for me but there are those nights to where you just can't catch a break and I ALWAYS make sure I shuffle nicely. Like I said tho, I love this deck and to recap my first game I actually had to call the judge over and have the mechanics of what just happened explained to my opponent who was baffled as into why I was attacking with 46 trample damage lol here was the scenario: I had Zada, Silverfur and Scourge wolf on the board with 3 wolf tokens with a buff from Howlpack Resurgence. I pulled a might of the masses and targeted Zada who I had thrown on turn 5 bc you know if you don't have anything to buff Zada, don't throw him just yet. The guy was stunned and so was the judge! The judge explained it, laughed and then said "I'm a fan." So let that be a little testimony if you will to other ppl considering this combo on how scary one turn can be. I shall be looking for further revisions. Also to add, don't count out Scourge wolf, with tormenting voice, lighting axe and evolving Wilds you can achieve delirium pretty quick.

I was playing a friendly game with a similar deck, and threw an Expedite on Zada. Oops

I had so many tokens I milled myself out of the game before I could attack. LOL.

Lostkause It's fun to get an opponent flustered. The most damage I've done at an FNM is I summoned 8,445 wolves on the same turn and then did 84,547 damage to my opponent after blockers b/c of trample :P.Chaos draft is everyone does the draft format (3 sealed booster packs, You pick one pack up at a time, pick a card from it, and pass it to the next player until it runs out of cards, pick up the next pack and start again) except the draft format you pick booster packs from different sets, and generally you have people picking a whole bunch of different sets but generally you have a few that are in standard because people want standard cards lmao. :P So yeah, I did that and went 4-0 :P

Now that's the kind of draft I would like to play, what's the buy in for that Rasanck?

May 24, 2016 11:08 a.m.

Rasanck says... #16

Lostkause for us the buy in was $15 for anything in standard and an additional charge for any other packs (So you couldn't pick up three packs of eternal masters for 15 dollars). XD

If you cast Confront the Unknown on Zada, Do you get a clue for every creature you control, or do you get a +1/+1 on every creature?

May 26, 2016 11:39 a.m.

stormsavant says... #18

krunchyfrogg, when all the Confront the Unknown's enter the stack, you pick in what order they resolve on each of your creatures and simply count the +1/+1s as each copy resolves. For instance, the first copy resolves, you have 1 clue, so that creature gets +1/+1, then another copy resolves on the stack, you now have two clues, that creature gets +2/+2, and etc... I believe that is the case.

It's a bit of a task to keep track of it. But if you play it intelligently with how your copies resolve, you can intentionally give creatures you want more strength.

Rasanck says... #19

stormsavant you got to it before I did. Ha. :P Thanks.

May 26, 2016 3:43 p.m.

clayperce says... #20

stormsavant and krunchyfrogg,
Yes, that is correct. One small clarification though: According to Gatherer, "The original spell will be on the stack beneath those copies and will resolve last." So while you can control the order in which the copies resolve, Zada will always get the biggest buff.

So i played again at fnm and did a looooot better than last time, sorry for trashing the deck before, i can totally see how you could earn first place with this, with a bit more time practice, and buying the full sideboard i think i can really do something with deck!

+1 upvote, man! I ordered this deck for kicks and grins, and it is so fun to play. Zada, Hedron Grinder is hilariously overpowered when combined with Silverfur Partisan and Might of the Masses. It bulldozes almost every deck at my local shop, especially when I drop a Expedite and draw 4 cards, then get three 2/2 tokens, draw a Might of the Masses and a Forest, then cast Might of the Masses and get five 2/2 tokens and everything gets +13/+13. Most wins are from opponents scooping. Great deck.

You've got to know when to hold 'em

Know when to fold 'em

Know when to mulligan

Know when to Lightning Axe

You never count your library

When you're sittin' at the table

There'll be time enough for countin'

When the magic's done

Every Planeswalker knows

That the secret to survivin'

Is knowin' what to throw away

And knowin' what to keep

'Cause every hand's a winner

And every hand's a loser

And the best that you can hope for

Is to natural mill in your sleep.

joebrannan1 I love the deck, and since Bant company keeps Waxing and Waining on who plays what, I only find that I keep winning more. Last FNM was a modern tourney and not Standard, but I participated in a repack draft I got 3rd in since they weren't doing standard. This week should be standard and I really hope I crush my opponents to death. : P

@Ransanck this looks like a really fun deck but seems like it'd be weak to a Thing in the Ice  Flip deck dedicated to flipping it, a simple Glint could counter your Lightning Axe and then it is free to wreck your field. I see how you get around Languish but your deck seems super weak to bounce spells, what do you recommend for countering that?
