Wort-Spell-EDH sub 20$, Super Budget

Commander / EDH Budget Burn Casual Multiplayer RG (Gruul)

G3RM4N0WNZ

Wort is an excellent commander for having fun with spells in colors most players won't expect it. This deck mostly revolves around token production via spells, and copying spells using those tokens.

The plan is to ramp up to a point where you can play and, in the best scenario, protect Wort with an aura. As soon as she is out, it's time to take advantage of her ability to copy your spells.

(Note, that you don't have to pay additional costs, like discarding cards for Cathartic Reunion , to copy those spells. Also if you copy a spell with X in it's cost, all copys of this spell have the same value as the original one on the stack.)

The enjoyable part is the variability of this deck, while you will mostly win the game burning down your opponets with a Comet Storm , or another X-burn spell, you also have the ability to swarm the enemy with an army of tokens. Cards like Second Harvest come in handy if you want to go this way. Another option is Throne of the God-Pharaoh .

This deck can be unusually explosive for such a cheap deck, under the right circumstances you can win the game from an almost empty field, as long as you have Wort. To do this, you need some fast mana, namely Early Harvest , Battle Hymn , Mana Geyser or Rude Awakening , you would be surprised how much mana you can get out of those, 30+ for one copied spell isn't unusual. After that, draw spells are needed to find the right pieces to finish of your opponents, Harmonize , Collective Unconscious , Shamanic Revelation , Cathartic Reunion , Volcanic Offering , Rishkar's Expertise (even on Wort), ( Sunbird's Invocation ) and Tormenting Voice help out there.

Try to pop in some token-producing spells, so you can keep copying those key pieces. Hopefully you found an X-burn spell by this time, Comet Storm and Fall of the Titans are the best ones. If needed support your burn with another fast mana spell you may have drawn, or one of the 2 damage ampilfyers in the deck, Angrath's Marauders and Insult .

Reverberate , Howl of the Horde , Wild Ricochet and Dualcaster Mage always help out by copying the pieces you need the most, and by copying one of the first 3 named via Wort, you can make 3+ copys of a single spell. Note, that Insult , after getting coppied 3 times, makes you inflict 16x the damage you would have done normally.

Summarized, this deck can get kinda combo-like explosive, but can also be a fun token spam deck beating face. It's strength lies in the value generated of copying a spell by only tapping 2 creatures, while it's weakness is it's dependence on Wort. If your enemys keep killing Wort, or even worse, her and all your tokens, with mass removal, you will have a bad time trying to keep up to anyone, but i guess a deck for less than 20$ will always have it's flaws.
