Cowgasm. Classic. I've been working today on an EDH deck for Newheb.

This had to be. Will you modify the other #1 Minotaur deck of yours you think?

+1

Jimmy_Chinchila this will be the modified version.

I like to keep my original decks together.

Thanks for giving this deck its first +1

I have been play testing and I do love the deck. Going to build this as an alt to my second sun deck to switch it up

Yeah it plays stronger than my earlier Amonkhet Minotaurs version.

Less Creatures and more removal was the key, along with Key to the City, which is an idea I stole from someone. Can't remember who.

I was hoping we would get a cool new minotaur in HoD. Neheb, The Eternal is a perfect! +1

Argy says... #8

Couldn't agree more.

He is one more card that the Opponent will try to remove because he is that devastating.

He gets around the problem of board wipe, and his two abilities are game changing.

Hi Argy, this deck is very interesting, but I don't understand how the new neheb gets around the problem of board wipe.Apart from that, nice decklist, +1 from me

June 23, 2017 8:48 a.m.

Argy says... #10

Marcs7 there are lot more options in a lot of colours that do 2 or 3 damage to each Creature.

Neheb, the Eternal gets around most of them, even Kozilek's Return.

It still gets hit by Dusk / Dawn and Fumigate, but you need to play to use those. Supernatural Stamina can protect against those.

Loving the custom category names.
Also this looks somewhat terrifying, not something I say often about 60 card tribal, especially in standard.

If i ever see a Minotaur deck and ignore him, it's because i'm possessed by some stupid spirit or something like that. They are my favorite tribe ever and Amonkhet bringing them back it's just amazing. I still want a Minotaur planeswalker (Maybe Sandruu?) card and I'm salty that Didgeridoo isn' going to be reprinted for modern any time soon :C

Did you try playing with some madness cards? maybe something like Fiery Temper or Murderous Compulsion? your deck does have some discard synergies, maybe not as much as the Vampires from SOI e EMN, but a few cards maybe are worthy?

Zac_Coatney says... #13

When HoD comes out 21 of your cards in this deck will not be standard legal. I don't know why no one has noticed you built a deck with new cards that are coming in and old cards that are rotating. W

Kufu says... #14

Zac_Coatney I think you are confused about when rotation happens. WhatsInStandard

June 26, 2017 2:49 p.m.

Kufu says... #15

For some reason my link did not work. Rotation for BFZ, OoG, SOI, and EM happens on September 29th 2017.

Zac_Coatney says... #16

I was told that rotation happens as soon as the new set comes out with is July 14th

Zac_Coatney then you were told incorrect information.

Did you bother to Google it for yourself?

Tio_Infernape I did muck around with both of those Madness cards but there are so many decks they are weaker against, compared with other removal options I currently have.

Neither of them takes care of Heart of Kiran, whereas Fatal Push and Grasp of Darkness both do.

Neither of them Exile Scrapheap Scrounger and Dread Wanderer. Magma Spray does.

They don't allow 3 extra damage like Unlicensed Disintegration, they don't board wipe like Chandra, Flamecaller, and they don't Exile Gods like Oblivion Strike.

3-4 copies of a legendary permanent seems pretty counter-productive, especially in a discard themed deck where you cant hold onto a second copy in your hand.. :/ id keep it at 2 or 3 max for legendaries, unless you have a few means of recurring them

Also, a red deck wins deck without Shock?? And a rakdos madness subtheme lacking Alms of the Vein AND Fiery Temper? If you want a rakdos burn/discard deck those should definitely be included

Lay Bare the Heart is also good for disruption and peeking at your opponents hand for Neheb, the Worthy discard information, while the above madness cards trigger of neheb's discard and allow for a pseudo Lightning Bolt in ftemper and a 1 mana black Lightning Helix in alms

June 27, 2017 2:05 p.m.

Fling is a vety good answer to targeted removal, since your creature will die anyway, and it can finish the game after a combat phase with such high-damage midrange bodies!

June 27, 2017 2:09 p.m.

I get that the madness cards dont "remove" high end threats, but you're playing rakdos you are more about aggressive life burning than control, and both of those deal 3 damage to a life total for 1 mana and are very easily triggered by neheb and Key to the City and it would dramatically speed up the decks damage, damage being the main strategy of a tribal rakdos deck of any form

June 27, 2017 2:16 p.m.

Argy says... #22

goblinguiderevealpls you have assumed this deck has a "madness subtheme".

It does not. If you'd read my notes you'd know that.

I had Fling in an earlier version of this deck. Supernatural Stamina proved itself more effective, so now takes its place.

You can Fling a Creature at an Opponent, or you can save it to deal more damage.

You don't know my Standard meta and, from your posts, you don't understand Standard at the moment if you think that Shock is an excellent card.

In the days of Saheeli Rai, yes. Not so much now.

You keep making SO many assumptions about this deck.

It's not RDW.

It's not about "aggressive life burning".

This might come as a Shock to you, but there is more than one way to play

PS. I'm so sick and tired of people assuming that you can't play four copies of a Legendary in a deck. That's absolute bunkum. You cast your spares when a copy on the field is destroyed and, lemme tell ya from playing a version of this deck for a season, any form of Neheb is gonna get removed.

With this deck you can easily get rid of extra copies, should it prove you don't need them after all.

Better four copies of an essential card than two copies, and you never see any in your hand.

June 27, 2017 4:04 p.m. Edited.

I only assumed the above because i assumed you were trying to make a GOOD deck, last time i checked rakdos was not a control color wedge competitively, just from experience playing red in legacy and modern for 10 years.. but if you want a lack of consistency or strategy, go ahead and mix tribal aggro beatdown with control, but trying to build 2 different decks in one shell = bad deck. You want to either go full out aggro with madness, shocks and minotaur beaters, or full control with grasp/lay bare/fatal push, but you're trying to mix a control strategy with an aggro one, and history has shown that the most competitive decks revolve around a single strategy (aggro, control, combo) and the rest perform subpar.

Long story short, if you want to be taken seriously in competitive standard, you need to either build rakdos minotaur beatdown, or rakdos control, the latter of which would run NO minotaurs and rather a shell of control spells, minotaur tribal and a control declK are far from synonymous.. but go ahead, you obviously cant listen to feedback, looking at your comment thread, so enjoy your bad standard "control minotaurs".. lmao

goblinguiderevealpls I listen to constructive feedback.

You have set too many limits on yourself. So much so that you can only see one way to play colours.

Point out where I said that this is a Control deck? That's right, nowhere.

Another little limit.

"control color wedge"? Since when are two colours a wedge? You're getting confused.

"just from experience playing red in legacy and modern for 10 years.."

As I suspected. Standard is a VERY different beast from either of those formats.

I wouldn't comment on a Legacy or Modern deck because I don't have intimate knowledge of those formats.

People often ask me to check out their Modern builds and I refer them to the Modern deck help forum, rather then giving out bad advice.

Something that you would be well advised to do, as you know nothing about what cards are Standard staples at the moment for

Go ahead and keep replying but I'll just be deleting your Comments from now on.

They started out as rude and ill-informed, and they have only gotten worse.

You get as good as you give.
