Disclamier: No this deck does not run Gray Merchant of Asphodel for those still want to revive mono-black devotion. XP
Formerly this was (Wrapped in Black) a Mono-Black Aggro deck however, with all the new warrior cards DTK brought and all the already existing warriors I found myself wanting to go the B/W warrior route instead (not to mention my deck will still be alive when it rotates XP).
Mainboard
Murderous Cut - Efficient removal and can often cost to less than its original cost but not a card I would want to see more than one or two of (running one right now).
Ultimate Price - Cheap removal that hits almost everything that is relevant in standard except for Siege Rhino and a few others.
Banishing Light - The catch all card while mana can be pricey at times when we want to put down creatures being able to hit anything including walkers (looking at you elspeth) is invaluable which is why I run it over Hero's Downfall.
Valorous Stance
- Cheap removal stapled with a protection effect. This piece of removal here will hit almost all the big threats in standard from Siege Rhino to Tasigur, the Golden Fang and many more.
Chief of the Edge
- Buffs all my creatures while having a nice aggressive body.
Thoughtseize - Probably the greatest card in this deck it allows me to get rid of key pieces of their deck for a small cost of 1 mana and 2 life.
Arashin Foremost - a drop with double strike 2/2 is ok but giving another warrior double strike on its entry or attack makes this care amazing and one of the reasons why I switched.
Blood-Chin Rager
Passes the vanilla check and has Goblin War Drums stapled to it for creatures and helps getting past blockers such as a certain 0/3 mana dork.
Dragon Hunter 2/1 for with an upside of being able to get past dragons or even block them if the situation arises.
Mardu Woe-Reaper
- Another 2/1 with an upside for its effect helps against other aggro decks and heals up Thoughtseize or land damage but also is mainboard grave hate against whip decks.
Bloodsoaked Champion - the ever awesome 2/1 body he comes with includes the upside of being a pseudo-Gravecrawler that works out of a zombie deck.
Brutal Hordechief - A new game ender straight from FRF, with him I will get in some damage and life from just swinging and I can control how creature's block as well letting me get almost all the damage through.
Battle Brawler
- Has the potential to be a 3/2 with first strike on turn 2 makes him very playable in here.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor - its a bird, its a plane, its Sorin?! Well being a B/W walker he couldn't be simply ignored. Sorin can help end games and can also make tokens (too bad they are not warriors) that can help fight as well and if I ever actual manged to pull off his ult without dying or you killing my opponent first that will probably seal the deal.
Sideboard
There are some extras of certain cards in the mainboard in the side but here is the rest of the side tech.
Despise
Most effective of against the midrange decks of the current format. It is used to get rid of creatures that must be answer before they hit the field such as Siege Rhino and Wingmate Roc or any dangerous creature or planeswalker. (I am considering Duress for this spot but I am not sure which would be better)
Its about time I came back to my standard deck which I haven't touch in awhile because I have been busy brewing/modifying EDH and Modern decks. Anyways, after witnessing all the great warrior cards introduce in DTK I couldn't help but finally use white thereby transforming this deck in B/W warriors. :3
