Maybeboard

Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Angel deck for my gf Violet.

The goal is to make it to the late game and have a board of indestructible angels, and board wipe opposing creatures but not our own with Wrath of God or Austere Command.

The biggest threat we face are Aggro decks that try to burn us down fast before we can ramp up. To combat this, we have many Lifegain / Lifelink options which can also spit out Angel 4/4 W w/ Vigilance tokens with Resplendent Angel each turn, a backbone of this deck. Youthful Valkyrie, Bishop of Wings, and Righteous Valkyrie will be important early on, and can scale into the mid / late game. Cleric Class can help push the 4 lifegain to 5 for token generation. Archangel of Thune is insanely strong in here, just unfortunately a pretty pricey card to run 3 of.

Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn will help ramp up to our crazy expensive angels quickly, and Herald of War may help some as well. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx will also help with mana management a lot if we're lucky enough to draw it.

Minas Tirith, Dawn of Hope, Sigarda's Splendor, Vanquisher's Banner, and Herald's Horn are all reliable means of consistent card draw. I'm also considering Firemane Commando, just don't think it's needed at the moment.

Clever Concealment and Flare of Fortitude can protect our creatures and even be cast for free or cheap. Paired up with Wrath of God / Austere Command can also board wipe enemy creatures, while leaving us intact. This could be a good option to stop our opponents early momentum, late game if we can get Avacyn, Angel of Hope or Sephara, Sky's Blade then we can freely Wrath of God. By this point the game should be over, but somehow if it's not, we should have access to Emeria, the Sky Ruin to revive fallen angels each turn. Serra Paragon can also help with this in the mid game, as well as Cleric Class in a pinch.

To make this deck legal for the Modern format, Firemane Commando, Herald's Horn, and Clever Concealment can be removed and swapped out for another Plains, a second Dawn of Hope, and a second Flare of Fortitude.

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions, thanks for taking a look.

Updates Add

Another big revamp thanks to some serious inspiration from BotaNickill and his Ang-Hellic deck.

Added: x3 Archangel of Thune, x4 Bishop of Wings, x3 Righteous Valkyrie, x1 Serra Paragon, x2 Austere Command, x1 Dawn of Hope

Removed: x4 Scroll of Avacyn, x2 Path to Exile, x1 Wrath of God, x2 Gideon's Avenger, x1 Gideon Blackblade, x1 Ajani Steadfast, x1 Elixir of Immortality, x1 Angelic Skirmisher, x1 Sublime Archangel

The sheer amount of added Lifegain makes me less concerned about initial safety, hence the added Austere Command for some needed Artifact / Enchantment removal options. And another Dawn of Hope to exploit the extra Lifegain for extra Draw. This deck wants to reach the end game badly to really pop off, and the tons of Lifegain and cheap bodies will help a lot with that. Might even go for a little more Draw after further play testing, we will see. Might also regret cutting the two Path to Exiles, may end up cutting 1 Austere after some testing.
