MH1 give us a new 2 drop Walker in the form of Wrenn6. There are a few pathways people are taking with him, but decided to keep it "mostly" fair. This deck is designed for a 75% meta. Fast and aggressive is the idea.
Nearly everything either puts a land into play or benefits from a land coming into play.
Fetchlands are one of the best bang for the buck lands. Each one gives 2 landfall triggers. One line of play is Crop Rotate for Wooded Foothills . Pop it to get a land. +1 Wrenn6 to get it back. Play it as your land for the turn. Pop it for another land. That is 4 landfall triggers itself. Feel free to add the new one to this deck, also: Prismatic Vista
Strip Mine is another amazing land. My goal isn't to get Strip out t2 and abuse it. It is, however, a repeatable effect I can +1 Wrenn to get. It also has a nice bonus of keeping the Bolas / Elderspell player off 3 black mana.
Kessig Wolf Run is absolutely needed. A lot of the landfall duders do not have trample. Even paying just RG and x=0 can completely change the game. It gets trample all the same. Stops the Saheeli player from chump blocking for days.
There are a couple Landfall dudes that just gain a little bit of life on trigger. Not sure if these are needed in every meta. If you are against aggro and burn a lot, they probably are a great idea. Combo? Replace them with disruption like Vandalblast , Destructive Revelry , Savage Twister or what ever you need. Heck, even a Lightning Bolt can stop a Walker from Ult if needed.
The top end of the list goes:
5) Nesting Dragon which can flood the board with blockers. Throw down a Blasphemous Act to clear the board and make a hecka full army of derguns
6) Rampaging Baloths The tokens may not have trample, but he is a 6/6 trampler himself. That could be enough to finish out games. If not, swarm them with 4/4s
7) Omnath, Locus of Rage I was wearing of addinga 7 drop to the format. With the ramp package, he seemed almost reasonable. If you meta is too fast, this may not be the right fit. HOWEVER, his tokens and ability are great at closing out games. Neither him not the tokens have Tramples, so keep that in mind. You may have to depend on his triggered ability to ping people down rather than combat.
One thing I am noticing is that there is low amounts of draw. Vivien, Champion of the Wilds is hecka good in this slot, though. Flash is great for board wipe decks. EOT, drop down a duder or two, swing at a clear board. Her +1 is also relevant in some cases. Low amount of flying.
List isn't perfect, but I am liking where it is heading. Like it too? Give Wrenn6 a thumbs up, leave a comment, let me know. I want feedback. :)
