Trap7x: no no this can work entertain me for a minute. At 4 power Marionette Master can 100-0 someone, or rather 20-0 someone with 5 artifacts going to the graveyard.

Y: Is this something you pulled off in draft and now you think its competitive?

Trap7x: no :/ it was sealed. Anyway the key was to have mana efficient artifacts that sac for 0 mana ideally, or very few mana so you can do it right when Marionette Master hits the board. Here's what we're running.

Renegade Map 1 mana to put it in play and it sacs for 0 this is the dream.Implement of Examination not a fan of the 3cmc to get it in play, but the long and short of it, we're a combo deck we need card draw to find pieces, and this still sacs for 1 mana.

Implement of Ferocity 1 mana to put in play and 1 mana to sac and it adds a +1/+1 to the master making us only need 4 artifact sacs

Trap7x: what? i said i have Renegade Map and i have.. well let me finish.

Tezzeret the Schemer his +1 makes artifacts that sac for free.. Great!!! The artifacts that sac can create green mana, Even better! and in all likelihood you'll have enough low cmc artifacts laying around the battlefield to kill off some things with his -2. Almost never intend to ult him, just +1 artifact the board for a couple turns and great, its ramp its a win con its fixing, it might be dumb enough to work.

Marionette Master Its what brings the dream together, play turn six sac a few Tez mana tokens use the mana to sac a few implements shake hands and try not to laugh out loud. as long as you can do it in one turn its to resilient to lose to anything but a counter-spell. Even if they have removal, which is unlikely cuz she gets over fatal push with revolt, and is nowhere near shock-able, all the sac effects are instant speed, so be careful with your triggers and let them resolve before sacrificing another and you can just respond to any removal.

Y: ok lets say the win condition can work, what do you do till you get there? Best case scenario you can pull the win turn 6 and thats hitting all land drops, half the decks in the format will have you dead by then.

Trap7x: yea but im in blue black i have some of the best disruption and stabilizing cards in standard.

Fatal Push yea well, we're playing black, gotta play it full 4 of.

Yahenni's Expertise Have'nt seen it around much, but i have loads of 3cmc or less cards i want on the board and i'll be in the business of clearing creatures on turns 4-6 so including a 2 of in the main and the additional 2 in the side.

Aether Poisoner 2cmc for a creature that trades with gear-hulks, OK! lets be honest i'm not attacking to make a servo very often but in a creature heavy meta death-touch is king, and i have card: aether hubs for that energy anyway.

And in the blue corner

Metallic Rebuke going to have a lot of artifacts sitting on the board so if i'm gonna play a counter-spell why not the improvise one??

Shielded Aether Thief 2cmc fog? kinda... flash makes this an ok fog effect, i dont expect much out of this guy but if i can get a block in and have energy to get a card off him i'm ecstatic. I went over this right im combo i need card draw where i can get it.

Glint-Nest Crane i have a lot of artifacts this guy gets over Shock and can block a lot of quick aggro, also the card draw theme returns.

Y: you keep talking about card draw why not just run Anticipate or Glimmer of Genius, or would that make too much sense for a deck designed by you?

Trap7x: hey hey hey, i considered them, but i have things to do on my early turns i don't really want to be leaving up mana to instant speed draw during their end step. with the thinning from map and draw off implements and a couple creatures i think i'm comfortable with my ability to find the pieces i need. So what do you think???

Y: Well its not the dumbest thing you built, whats your board.

Trap7x: Standard for combo, come card draw and more counter-spells to protect against control, extra board sweepers for aggro, o and Tezzeret's Touch as an alt win con, mostly because getting killed by a Renegade Map is funny to me.
