This is a deck that I have been working on for some time now to be competitive in Legacy and I think it is finally time to unveil it here on Tapped Out. An in depth primer can be found here: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=343338

This deck focuses primarily on dropping lots of birds and using different synergies to maintain steam (ie, not running out of birds and cards to play) even as your birds are getting wiped off the field or countered or whatever. The control element of the deck comes first from the amount of staying power this deck has, second from the amount of removal it packs and third from the powerful enchantments it abuses. Check out the primer for more details.

I have had some competitive success with it going 2-2 in the last two tournaments. I definitely had the greatest chance of making top four with it in the last tourny but I made some play errors that cost me a win.

That said, I believe there is always room for improvement so I am sharing this deck here. While I am trying to make this as competitive as possible, keep in mind a couple of things before making suggestions.

  1. I'm trying to keep this at least somewhat budget. Right now the total cost including SB is under $200 which is nice. Adding more money cards isn't necessarily a problem unless the deck suddenly becomes ridiculously expensive.

  2. I know such and such U/W Stoneblade deck is better than this. That's why they are tier 1. They are proven decks. I'm not here to net deck, however. I am here to develop new competitive decks that potentially introduce new mechanics to Legacy (ie, forecast in this deck). Decks don't appear out of thin air. At some point in time, every competitive Legacy deck was at this stage of creation.

  3. The deck list in the Maybeboard is the 'proven' list. It's the one I've tested the most and the one that I know is competitive. The main list you see here is the test list where I am constantly exploring new ways of improving the deck. Right now, I'm looking to incorporate an Enlightened Tutor toolbox in the SB.
