Really like the deck simply because of how affordable yet competitive it is. I don't see it taking any grand prix's or pptq's, but in the right hands I think it is possible that it would. I would honestly say toss the Disdainful Stroke and go for more Stubborn Denial. With your heroic triggering, you can easily get a 4 power out, and even then the time people are casting their 4 or greater CMC cards is as soon as possible, leaving no mana to tap for the Stubborn Denial. Other than that great deck!

You need more creatures. I play-tested this against my own blue aggro and Jeskai token and it didn't fare well. I had tons of noncreature spells but nothing to play them on.
Seeker of the Way should easily be 4-of and he's cheap to boot. Daxos of Meletis at least another copy. I understand you're on a budget so get the other 2 main guys when ya can.
Too many enchantments; I personally would only run Aqueous Form and Ordeal of Thassa. Both are easy on only 20 lands and effective straightaway. Ordeal of Heliod should be in SB to switch with the Thassa's if against burn, etc.
1-2 ofs just aren't effective because you cannot count on drawing them. Prune those from your instants is my advice.
I appreciate your description on card choices, a great change from many who do not, but I think you need to be terse.

16 creatures is perfect. I would suggest running Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest and Valorous Stance

@staydank420 You have a good point. The only thing that I have to say in response is that Disdainful Stroke also hits Stormbreath Dragon and a few other heavy hitters, whereas Stubborn Denial does not. You can possibly have both in the sideboard, or choose one. Either way.

@Pal00ka I played against Jeskai tokens a few times and never had any issue. Do you have your blue aggro decklist? As for the card suggestions, another Seeker might not be bad, but I wouldn't use more than three (this is a Heroic deck, after all). The Triton Tactics and MB Stubborn Denial are a bit debatable, and can be in the SB instead. For Battle Mastery, I've never had an issue with it, and it's always been helpful. Ordeal of Heliod is great against tokens or aggro as well. I plan to add another in there somewhere.
Also, you are entirely correct. I got way too wordy, as I tend to do. I'll try to trim it down a bit.

@Se7enfoot: I'm still fiddling with the creature ratio. Shu Yun is an option, but I feel like he is just too much of a mana sink. I still haven't decided on Valorous Stance yet. It did wonders at the Prerelease, but I'm not sure if it is the right fit for this deck.

@KnyghtZero: ah, good point, I forgot it does say "non-creature". Siege Rhino Is another guy to counter or remove when possible, I take back my suggestion and I'd say stick with the Disdainful Stroke. Can't really think of anything to add that would fit the budget, other than Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest. I definitely think he should be in here, at least as a two-of. 3 drop for a 3/2 fits the decks tempo well, and with prowess becomes even better. Then tack on his activated ability, and you could have a win-con with this deck. Opens up turn 4 lethal damage. turn 1: plains, Favored Hopliteturn 2: island, Mortal Obstinacy, Aqueous Form on the hoplite, swing in for 4.turn 3: plains, Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest, swing for 4 total of 8.turn 4: plains, Defiant Strike on the hoplite, give double strike swing for 12 total of 20. Save Island for a possible Stubborn Denial in hand.
highly unlikely, but this best highlights Shu Yun's capability to win games, especially with a deck that has a majority of 1 and 2-drop buffs.

Hello again just checking in on your progress and updates since my last comment.
I see that you managed to get 2nd place earlier this month that is always a great feeling, Congrats!
I'm happy the changes are working for you and that you are able to not only top 8 but come close to 1st place. Best of luck in your future matches, and I hope you have fun playing and building increasingly competitive decks. My only suggestion is for the Sideboard.
If you are still having trouble managing the Stormbreath Dragons I would consider Reality Shift. For the mirror match add in Sage's Reverie As a way to hopefully restock your hand as well give a pseudo-Ethereal Armor effect.
Again Congratulations and good luck in your future FNM's. Next time I check this I want to see a 1st place update ;D

@Maddest_MAB I'm starting to feel like I have a mentor here! I appreciate all of your help and criticism, and just the general support and encouragement.
Sideboard help is always nice. I never quite know what to play, and since I've shifted location for the spring semester of college, I don't know what the local meta is like yet. Even so, I've considered Reality Shift before, so that is an option. As for Sage's Reverie, I had not seen that before. I hesitate because of the 4-CMC, but I can see how it would be extremely strong as well.
Thanks again, mate!

Nice deck!
I have a suggestion. Battle Mastery is difficult to cast if you don't have a Hero of Iroas for the 1 colorless mana discount, and you only get double strike out of it.
Instead, I would replace your 2 copies of Battle Mastery with 2 copies of Temur Battle Rage - you could replace 4 of your basic lands with 4 copies of Mystic Monastery so you could splash red. With Temur Battle Rage, you get an additional benefit due to Ferocious (you'll certainly have a 4 or greater power creature when you play this) which will also give you trample, in addition to the double strike you'd be getting already.
Good luck!

@Lentini007: That's not a bad thought. I think I'll test that out and see how well that works. We'll see I guess :)

The fact that you stated this is a budget deck is hilarious. Anyone with 20 bucks can build Heroic U/W deck. Lol.

@UpperDeckerTaco: That's exactly the point. The problem is, many people don't realize just how cheap it is, and many newer players will search for budget, especially for standard decks.

I want to apologize, I sounded kind of like a prude. I did however find humor in the irony of "budget" and "heroic" together because heroic is already a budget deck.

I know most of us still have yet to get off the Seeker of the Way hype train, but with a Hero of Iroas on the field, I'd much rather pay the 1 extra mana to bestow a Hopeful Eidolon on my hoplite or fabled hero.
