yeah, i somehow failed to see that you ran kozy, honestly 1 titan is enough and kozy vs ulamog is a matter of if you prefer card advantage or a threat/answer. i like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre for the higher difficulty in getting rid of him, as well as the on cast destroy effect eliminating nearly any single threat of your choice. it really is a matter of preferance and kozy does very well in decks with lots of answers like this one.

Can't +1 again, but I can make a suggestion! How do you feel about Mikokoro, Center of the Sea ? Seems like your deck supports quite a few lands that only tap for colorless.

MaelstromHobo I know I should not say this, but I am not a fan of letting my opponent draw. That said, it is on my terms, so I will think about it.
If you want to +1 you could always hit another deck of mine if you wanted.

No I completely get that. There are times when your opponent stands to benefit from that draw more than you. I like Howling Mine effects in EDH though because they really dish out the feel goods, and I really enjoy that.
+1 for Roon though, he's one of the most fun generals to play against.

Thanks. The reason I do like that land, is because you can be the first to benefit off of the extra draw. I am also a little bit weary of the colorless. I have some, and will have to test how many of those I can go.

Going to get Glen Elendra Archmage , and Kira, Great Glass-Spinner in the next few days.
Thinking of cutting Guul Draz, and Soothsaying for them.
Also adding Mystic Remora , and taking out Jace's Ingenuity I suppose

Hey there!
You need a way to protect Merieke. From experience, she gets cleared off as soon as she hits the table due to the fear factor. There's something scary about beating someone up with big creatures, but there's a much stronger gut-reaction to being beaten up with your OWN cratures that makes you scared and angry. Darksteel Plate would be pretty good here.
I'd also add some sacrifice effects like Slum Reaper or Barter in Blood , where you can toss other people's creatures if you want.
You might already have some of this, I have a hard time getting through other people's EDH lists. This looks like a good build, though!

Didgeridooda says... #9
Thanks. I did think of more protection for her. It was tough because she just gets sent off either way. I usually cast her a few times per game. There are many exile effects that get run in games I play in.
I use the boots, greaves, Pemmin's Aura , Spellskite , Mother of Runes and counters that help me out to protect her currently. I will keep an eye over the next few games, and see if darksteel plate is something that would help me though.
I used to run a few edict effects, but they were getting in the way more then helping. Barter and blood seems very useful though. My brother runs that, not sure why I have not tried it.
Which cards aside from the 3 in my last comment would you consider taking out?
September 4, 2014 11:04 p.m.
I'm not sure what to cut. It's hard to tell with Commander decks. But probably Negate . It's not the strongest counterspell, and counters in general lead to card disadvantage: One player casts a spell, you counter it, and you're both down a card. Everyone else didn't use any cards, so they get card advantage and you lose it.

Didgeridooda says... #11
That is why draw engines are so important, so you can keep up with everyone. Ramp, Draw are key. I need an arena too. You are right, Negate is always on the list, but with people playing cyclonic rift, wipes, and all sorts of stuff it always has a place. I will try replacing a few, and see if that gets me more consistency.
September 5, 2014 2:54 p.m.
With all the tutoring and counter spells I'd imagine you could take out Phantasmal Image for Consecrated Sphinx . He's great when he works and he's also a great target for people to blow removal on.
Other than that I'd totally switch out Obelisk of Esper for Chromatic Lantern , it's the same plus so much more. Feels amazing to be calculating mana and then remembering that it doesn't matter at all.
Badass deck though and seems like a nightmare to play agains. ;)

Funny you say those things. Consecrated sphinx is one that I am really trying to trade for, and I just made a deal for some lanterns to get that obelisk out of here.
I built this out of pieces I had + trading. It is taking a long time to find the cards I need, but I am getting there. Phyrexian Arena is another on my list of things to get in here.
I did want to work in another board wipe or 2. I was thinking Merciless Eviction , and/or Terminus

What do you think KeenAdam? What cards would you remove for them?
September 10, 2014 11:39 a.m.
Fact or Fiction Brittle Effigy and Thousand-Year Elixir would be what I would do.
Fact or Fiction I've personally never like because it lets the opponent choose, imo it's better to just rely on more draw power ie; Consecrated Sphinx .
Brittle Effigy is good for indestructables but Terminus is better (sometimes cheaper, trashes the rest of their army). Damnation could be better than Terminus because you won't be tucking your commander but all of that just needs to be played to find out what works best.
Do you think that you'd have a larger draw from Phyrexian Arena thank you would Mystic Remora ? I'd trade those two out.
As far as Merciless Eviction goes make sure you compare it with Austere Command . I'm getting the Command as soon as I can over Eviction because it lets you choose two.
All of this is just my opinion and requires field testing but I hope it can help!

The elixir is a key piece in the deck. It might be the most important card outside of my commander.
Good point on the effigy. I liked fact or fiction due to it being instant speed, and I will always get the card that I want out of the 5, but I could try running a wipe instead.
Forgot about the command. I might take out day of judgement, and put command in, then eviction for fact or fiction.
Mystic Remora is a work horse in my meta. Many things get played that are non creature, and it usually easily fill my hand. In a 1 on 1 it is ok, but in a 4 or 5 player game it is a monster.
At this point, I have been tweaking this deck for a couple years here and there. It becomes difficult to cut cards because of all the times each one was useful. I really appreciate suggestions, and will try them.

Oooh it's the bane of my Kaalia deck, looks like a pain to play against....sounds like something I might like to run lol.
I don't have any suggestions, because all the things I'd suggest have already been suggested by someone else.
This deck looks awesome! +1

Some cards that I would recommend for you include Oblivion Ring , Detention Sphere , Council's Judgment , Capsize , Sensei's Divining Top , Intruder Alarm , Skullclamp , and Drogskol Reaver
Oblivion Ring and Detention Sphere are nice removal. They can remove threats nicely, and Detention Sphere can even kill a large horde of tokens.
council's judgement can get around hexproof and shroud. Enough said
Capsize is a repeatable bounce. It can be a great way to save yourself from a big threat or slowly kill off an opponents board state.
Sensei's Divining Top gives you card draw and allows for reorganizing your library. Makes you draw what you need.
Intruder Alarm makes Merieke a beast. Enough said
Skullclamp can be attached to creatures stolen with Merieke, then untap her. Nets two cards for one mana
Drogskol Reaver gives you an endgame beater who gives you cards and can be buffed to become a huge threat. Slap an Argentum Armor on it and let your opponents fret.
I'd personally say that the two cards you could probably cut are Expedition Map and Mox Opal , and maybe Ponder and Preordain .
Expedition Map takes your first two turns just to get a utility land. It might be the land you need, but that is still a large mana investment early game. Late game it will likely be unnecessary.
Mox Opal doesn't seem like it would be effective since you won't have metalcraft quickly. Maybe add in the artifact lands like Seat of the Synod if you do keep this in since it will increase the chances of it activating.
Ponder and Preordain basically just let you filter through some cards. I'd rather have some larger scale draw, like Rhystic Study , Consecrated Sphinx , or Blue Sun's Zenith , or a card that I would be searching for with that draw, like a Bribery .
Finally, I'd recommend that you don't use Dromar's Cavern as a land. Its too slow.

O-ring, Capsize, skull clamp are all things I have used in the past. I might revisit them we will have to see.
Council's Judgement, D-sphere, top are all cards I would love to have in here. I will work to get them.
The sphinx is at the top of my to do list. Just can not find one for trade.
Expedition map is actually an all star for me, and has formed it's way to an auto include in every EDH deck. It has proven it self to be very useful. I already run the study.
Ponder and the like are tough. They are very helpful early on, and don't take up too much space late game, but if I could get ahold of some of that other stuff, then removing them is a good idea.
Seat of Snyod is actually sitting on top of my deck right now waiting for me to pull an island for it. Mox Opal has been very good to me.
I agree with what you say about the cavern. It is a little better then a tap land, but I am not a huge fan of those. I am working on getting a reflecting pool, or mana confluence for that spot.
I like the exile ability more then scry one on the counter. The people I play with use quite alot of recursion.
The reaver is ok, but I am not sure I want too many beaters in here. Kozilek is pretty much here for the anti mill.
Thank you very much for the insight here. It helps me out having that outside view point.

Illusionist's Bracers
and Mistmeadow Witch
would be funny here. Steal/control 2 creatures at once and pop in and out of exile, killing the creatures as you go.
(oops, i see the bracers and Rings of Brighthearth in maybeboard now)

I honestly never thought to add the mistmeadow witch to this. I use her in my Roon deck. She is nice there, but I am not sure I have enough ramp to really use her well.
The rings, and bracers are something I am going to try out once I get them.

I am currently working getting more ramp going in here, so when I do I will defiantly test her.

It's not my deck I had to comment on, but eh why not ;D
Your deck looks really solid! I'm personally not a big fan of Mox Opal because it doesn't come online until after the fact that its a 0 drop makes it so good (in EDH), so I'd argue that it can should probably be replaced with a land or something. Also, Ponder and Preordain can get some consistency for EDH, but I'd probably argue that if you're going to spend mana, might as well spend mana on a tutor spell, and you've got both colors for transmute cards (Muddle the Mixture), and I know that they are pretty broken when you can use them as a Grim Tutor more or less. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly to me, if you are going to spend mana that could be spent on advancing your board state or crippling your opponents' board states on just keeping your board state, it better be hella amazing. Mystic Remora is extremely overrated in EDH. But hey, that means it's easier for me to win against people who play it. (Sorry, I should probably be more polite, especially since you've been so nice to me in the past!)
As for what to include, I think I would like to know more about what exactly you think the deck needs. I've recently began making some "staples" lists that may be helpful. I have tutors, draw spells, draw enchantments, board wipes, spot removal, tucks, and more, so let me know what you want, and I'll try to assist any way that I can. :D
ALSO ALSO (I say also a lot), I have my own Merieke Ri Berit deck, and I don't know, but maybe you might find something neat in it? Who knows... MagicalHacker - Merieke Ri Berit.
Sorry that your actual "critic" didn't write anything... :(

Thank you. I have been back and forth on the ponder/preordain. I should try muddle, I have one, just have not run it in here. I will add that in for sure. I pulled a few counters, and think I could use some back, so that is exactly what I could use.
Not sure I would replace the opal, it is consistently online for me quickly in here. I have a few board wipes I have been wanting to work in. Merc. Eviction being something that I think could help me since people are starting to run more, and more walkers.
Remora really does well for me. I would like to replace it with sphinx, or arena.
I really am not sure about what I need here. Would love a Grim Tutor, but they are a bit much. I will check yours out in a bit. I just wanted some new eyes to take a look because I am now at that wall.

I do already run Kozilek though. Not going to be getting another Ulamog.
