@WERTPRO: you know, there isn't a whole lot in Modern Horizons for this deck. There's no RB land, we already had a RB talisman, there's not much for a storm archetype in the whole set, or reanimator for that matter.
So, I haven't actually seen anything that looks good for Xantcha. :(

Yeah. I think Vilis, Broker of Blood will find a spot. :)

Oh Paradox Engine banned! Maybe replace with Monolith/Rings?

Yea I'm really curious what to replace for this deck, I'm wondering what about Aetherflux Reservoir to combo with Top and Citadel?
July 8, 2019 8:36 p.m.
So, I think Aetherflux + Citadel is ok. Paradox Engine was good, but we have to move past that. Also Vilis needs to get in. Card is awesome.

What do you think of Anje Falkenrath? Better, worse or different?

They just nuetered this deck by errataing the fact that she comes back under owners control and instead you now have to re-cast her.
Whats your take on working around this?
August 20, 2019 9:42 p.m.
NAHS901 Honestly, the errata makes the deck better. Now you can kill everyone deterministically after making infinite mana. When Xantcha's controller dies, she gets exiled, you recast her, give her to the next person, and repeat.

Kannibal It hurts her because you cannot kill at instant speed now. The work around we have come up with in the discord is to run Comet Storm over rolling earthquake and kill after you create infinite mana.
August 24, 2019 11:31 a.m.
Doesnt this mean we need more creatures in the deck to reliably break the worldgorger loop? We can still win with her we just have to recast her.
August 30, 2019 6:22 p.m.
@NAHS901: It only hurts the instant-speed win with Necromancy + WGD. We just have to add a Comet Storm now.
@Kannibal: maybe? I never had trouble killing her off before; but now it's a little easier.
@CommanderPatsy: exactly right... :)
@Klancik: I don't think you need more creatures, if you can draw into Comet Storm that basically solves all your problems. The WGD loop doesn't need to end.
Being able to over-draw and draw cards equal to your deck is a decent upgrade to how we had to do this before. :D

Will underworld breach be added to the list? Not sure what to take out for it but a 1 mana cheaper YW seems like a great add

Hey, are you still upgrading this list? I have some questions
why Fellwar Stone over Arcane Signet?
why Bloodchief Ascension without Mindcrank
Praetor's Grasp Shouldn't be in the maybe board, if your WGD somehow gets exiled, this can open the way to a win
why Tormenting Voice over Thrill of Possibility last is instant and does the same
Just Vilis as Backup target for the WGD loop isn't enough. If you can't end your loop, in some occasions you only get a draw instead of a win. Sire or Rune-Scarred Demon work well for me :)
Bojuka Bog since Nihil Spellbomb is in your maybe board.

@Lord_Nottingham, I'd go for more relevant interaction. Depends on the kinds of combos, but I'd add the Red Elemental Blast and Nihil Spellbomb , assuming the combos are GY or backed by blue-decks. If you're not playing against green-based decks then you can drop a couple pyroclasms. If you're in pods of 3 combo decks, try to play politics and get them to help stop each other. If they're all uninteractive linear combo decks... I guess I'd try to play another deck or (better yet) play with other opponents. ;)
I don't think the deck has much synergy with a stax build; it hoses the storm plan in particular. I guess you could drop all the rituals and Bonus Round stuff, and add in stax artifacts... but there aren't actually much good stax cards in Black, and in Red it's... there's some hatebears but that doesn't really apply here.
You might be interested in my actual CEDH Stax Deck, The Great Radhaggro. It's very good against combo decks.
