was there a reason for not adding a sword of war and peace?

It's actually been added to the deck recently. I haven't updated the deck due to being busy. I plan on revamping it this week as well as uploading my new meren edh deck

Alright everybody, after a long break I finally revamped the entire deck. Right now I am currently trying to improve the deck. I've been debating taking out bitterblossom, contamination, infernal darkness and phyrexian obliterator. While I have been wanting to include wasteland, nirkana revenant, and maybe a couple other utility lands. My current meta I face is Karador Boon, Prime-speaker zegana, marath, shu-yun, and some other rouge decks. Thanks again Guys. I really do appreciate your input.

Hey bud, I can't find our messages on FB...did you still want to do the alters?

I like the deck and think you should run Phyrexian Obliterator instead of the khajit woman. :)
I have a few suggestion that I hope help.
I will first suggest my favorite card, Grave Pact. It is incredibly powerful and makes people shy away from messing with you. I like your No Mercy and it can be degenerate when combined with Glacial Chasm or Exsanguinate. Another card that pairs beautifully with Exsanguinate is Kokusho, the Evening Star. It is just oppressive when brought back over and over with Strands of Night, Animate Dead, Dance of the Dead, Necromancy, Living Death, Beacon of Unrest, or Chainer, Dementia Master. I'm wondering if this deck would benefit from 1 time use reanimation cards like Mimic Vat and Diabolic Servitude. Buried Alive and Corpse Connoisseur seem vital for a reanimation deck and should be included with your entomb. also on tutors, Diabolic Intent is good with any fodder and Sidisi, Undead Vizier has been a cheaper and stronger Rune-Scarred Demon in my experience. Shriveling Rot is an insane spell and is my favorite "Trap Card" in black, Massacre Wurm being its creature counterpart. It's utility is through the roof, along with cards like Smallpox, Pox, and Death Cloud. Hellfire is a 5 mana Plague Wind with a little bit of burn but its nothing an Exsanguinate wont patch up.
Blacks number 1 weakness is its inability to remove artifacts and enchantments. Any black deck can be shut down by cards like Solitary Confinement, Nevermore, or Moat, Humility and so this deck may want something like Dystopia, Oblivion Stone, Nevinyrral's Disk, Smokestack, or Perilous Vault to remove something that could otherwise cost you a game.
Great alter, I haven't watched Full Metal Alchemist in forever. +1

A Guardian Beast would be awesome in this deck MisterTweetums but it is by no means budget.

I recently removed him as he didn't serve his purpose as well I would have liked.

Was he just always removed on sight? or just not strong enough? I'm thinking of saving up for one but I'm on the fence investing into something so expensive that isnt colorless. I want to know if its worth it from someone with previous use to be honest.

With my deck at least I can say I rarely ever drawed into him, and with all of the tutors I run there was only one time I had ever tutored out for him.As good of a card as he is when it comes to the protection of your artifacts, you'll more than likely see your artifacts get countered then actually destroyed. I found myself using yawgmoth's will more than guardian beast himself to just bring back the 1 or 2 equipment that actually get destroyed during the game. I guess it also depends on your meta.

Yeah, I have had that problem when playing with white equipment decks but with Glissa, the Traitor as one of my generals its not the biggest issue unless some Faerie Trickery occurs.
Black is my favorite color in magic so I'm saving up for one of the super expensive black spells like the chains, Guardian Beast, Nether Void, or The Abyss. I'm leaning towards Nether Void honestly because its effect is very unique and can only be mimicked poorly by lame spheres. Not a very fun card though ... well besides for me :)
How would you think Lazav, Dimir Mastermind would do as a disruption/voltron commander. If I was to do a non-white voltron commander it would probably be him since his ability is absolutely insane and he has hexproof. Blue makes things unblockable too.

I've seen Lazav in play and personally dislike him. When it comes to the trifecta of the legends enchantments I think you should learn towards the abyss more than nethervoid. Unless you can ramp stuff either by mana doublers or mana rocks then it's risky to play. However with things like bitterblossom or any other token generator the abyss can do wonders against other voltron like decks (zur, kaalia, narset, etc.) This is all based on the meta I see. Feel free to do whatever you want.

I tend to assume going into any meta that there is going to be some kind of big 3 color general and I think Nether Void does pretty good against all of them I think. In my zombie tribal at least I can replicate the abyss with Call to the Grave but other things like Grave Pact and Smokestack do a decent enough of a impression as well. I like mono black a lot, just on the ends about what commander and strategy to fully commit to. If Braids, Cabal Minion wasn't banned I'd play her in a heartbeat and make a really pimped out deck :( I really like her lore.
I don't own this horseman from portal three kingdoms but do you think Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief could be a budget substitute as a mono black voltron commander?

I think you'd be better of using Mirri the cursed as a replacement for xiahou. She has haste and flying in monoblack which isnt a normal thing really.

Any deck with Fhrer Bradley as the deck icon gets a +1 from me.

Full Metal Alchemist Fuhrer card art? Lol, even in the old card style.

Hey! I upvoted this deck a long time ago but I could never provide any suggestions. Here are some ideas I would like your input on. How do you deal with artifacts and enchantments? Aside from Ugin, how else do you deal with artifacts and enchantments? I see you're considering All is Dust which I highly recommend if you can find room for it.
Thespian's Stage should not be overlooked. Another coffers? Copy mishra's workshop?
I am not sure if this fits in your deck but Mirage Mirror is definitely a card to consider.
Maybe Torpor Orb to stop opposing ETB's?
Is exsanguinate used to mitigate life loss since I don't see any infinite combos.

Hey Profet, I'm actually in the process of updating this deck since it's been long overdo. As for dealing with artifacts and enchantments I sadly only use Karn. I've also been debating on using oblivion stone or Nevinyrral's Disk disk due to guardian beast being such a benefit.
June 17, 2018 5:39 a.m.
Well let me know when it's fully updated and what you feel is lacking in the deck and I will be more than happy to help :)

Profet93 Fully updated now. As far as I know I wish I had more ways to protect my artifacts or being able to deal with enchantments. Which is why I've been debating the 3 cards earlier.
June 17, 2018 9:02 p.m.
Protecting artifacts aside from Guardian beast and Darksteel Forge is almost non-existent in black (from what I know). Test the deck and see how it fairs. If need be, you can always add Beacon of Unrest for versatile recursion of artifacts/creatures.
I would say trading post to recur artifacts in a pinch, save them from exile and work with contamination, but I'm not sure the deck is suited towards that.
Maybe a Howl from Beyond?

I actually had howl from beyond in the deck and it proved to be rather lackluster
MisterTweetums says... #1
I'd agree with you in that. I haven't drawn him in games recently that much either.
