The Brothers Yamazaki were mercenaries for hire. They had no interest in the Kami War except to fight for the highest bidder. Not many samurai were willing to stand against Konda’s army however. So the brothers enlisted the help of as many as they could, knowing the only way to match Konda’s army would be to unite with Toshiro and Isao.
