Yarok's Recycling Center

Commander / EDH BUG (Sultai)

Peter_Panic

Yarok, the Desecrated leads the troops in this EDH deck by taking advantage of their enter-the-battlefield triggered abilities, whether they are being cast from hand or resurrected from the graveyard. The many lands give potential for token generation fun with Field of the Dead. While Recurring Nightmare is unfortunately banned, we've got Phyrexian Delver, Living Death (doubles as board-wipe), Victimize, and Command the Dreadhorde for resurrection of creatures from the graveyard directly into play (there are a number of cards that bounce creatures from battlefield back to hand as well like Shrieking Drake & Equilibrium). Cards like Ancestral Memories & Greater Good allow rummage by drawing and discarding cards. Bojuka Bog double-triggers with Yarok or triples with Panharmonicon + Yarok , which will do wonders for making opponents graveyards disappear before casting Living Death (Ashiok does a quick job of pre-Living Death graveyard hate as well). There's also a boat-load of tutors and land-play.

Some of the sweet combos include:

Hermit Druid + Living Death for optimal board-wipe into board presence! The deck has very few basics, so you use Hermit Druid to mill a lot of the creatures in your deck into the yard. Then cast Living Death to wipe all the opponents creatures out while resurrecting the ones you milled into the yard with Hermit. This is the #1 combo that I aim for in a fun, casual game. Ideally you have Massacre Wurm and / or Ravenous Chup resurrecting to take care of any creatures in opponents' graveyards that are coming back to life. If any opponent has blue it is best to cast Living Death with Boseiju to avoid crying over counter-magic. (if the Living Death doesn't work out after you've self-milled hard, you can get the yard back into the deck with Echo of Eons, or go full self-mill with the help of Demonic Consultation and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries alt win-con). [Note: one must be careful with Massacre Girl, because she can re-wipe the creatures out that Living Death just scored for you, especially if Yarok or Panharmonicon are out. Deathrite Shaman can fish her out of the yard to avoid such a "massacre."]

Field of the Dead + (accumulating lands onto the battlefield that double-trigger zombie-tokens with Yarok) + End-Raze Forerunners.

Dread Presence + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to doll out damage and gain life or draw cards.

Strip Mine / Wasteland + Crucible of the Worlds / Ramunap Excavator Obvious land-destruction loop - beware of causing widespread salt-triggers at the table.

Infinite mana is possible through: Shrieking Drake + Cloud of Faeries or Palinchron + Deadeye Navigator as long as Yarok or Panharmonicon are on the board.

This is my initial build of Yarok EDH. I realize the basic-land count is light, but I want to optimize opportunity for Field of the Dead to work as quickly as possible. May the God-Eternals save us from Blood Moons!
