Sideboard

I play Yawgmoth in modern (A beautiful almost all old foil type fully foiled out deck). And with Yawgmoth being in historic a while, I have been hoping to get the pieces needed to build a good deck. We had a couple things we could do but was really limited to just stabbing creature decks with Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs but that was more of a meme plan.

With Young Wolf being added to the format, we now have the parts to make a competitive deck. This deck is not as resilient as its modern cousin, but it will make any creature deck cry and can easily assemble the combo quickly.

The Combos and synergies -

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician + Young Wolf - Undying gives a +1/+1 counter when it dies, so with yawgmoth you can negate that to repeatedly sacrifice the creature. Add in a Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and you get a creature per time, so you can draw cards equal to your life total. Or kill all your opponents creatures. With two young wolfs and a yawgmoth you can draw cards equal to your life total.

Prosperous Innkeeper + Yawgmoth, Thran Physician - Gives you a life per ETB with young wolf coming back or snakes from hapatra to negate the life loss from Yawgmoth.

Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons + Yawgmoth, Thran Physician - Per -1/-1 counter given, you get a snake. We all love snakes

The kill -

Blood Artist With this on the battlefield, the synergy becomes a kill.

Finding the combo -

Eldritch Evolution - A staple of the modern version of this deck, you can sacrifice one of your fodder creatures to find a combo piece. Fun thing with Young Wolf is you can sacrifice it, get a 2 or 3 CMC creature, and then it comes back with a counter so you can potentially use it in future turns.

Grizzled Huntmaster - A sweet card, your deck is full of creatures so you almost always have one in hand to discard. This card allows you to remove fodder from your deck if you want, like removing all of a certain mana dork, and allows you to grab either a combo piece of a flex spot from the sideboard for multiple situations. All around the card that I think really makes this deck tick.

Flex Spots -

Sheoldred, the Apocalypse - Keeps you alive with yawg draws, and can give a buffer against other fast aggro decks.

Outland Liberator   - Staple of the modern version of the deck for artifact/enchantment removal, while I have moved to knight of autumn the manabase of this deck just can't support it without fetchlands.

Scavenging Ooze - Also ported from the modern version, graveyard hate and lifegain

I wish we had grist -

Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler - My sad attempt at a replacement for Grist. Most important card in the modern version of the deck for fighting against control and many other decks, which I fully expect we will never see in historic as it would break this deck. Tyvar allows you to accelerate with your dorks, and mainly allows you to mill and buy back one of the cheaper cards that you need for the combo.

Sideboard -

The singleton creatures are all grabs for Grizzled Huntmaster, and the rest are pretty stock things. I threw in Shapers' Sanctuary for an attempt to fight control, but this deck is still very soft to board wipes.

This deck is still very prototype, I only spent about 10 minutes getting it thrown together but I have been crushing creature decks on the ladder. If anyone has deck change suggestions feel free to comment!

I don't think this deck is completely T1 or T0 because of its weakness to control/tempo decks, but still a fun deck to grind on the ladder with.
