Yennett Cryptic Enchantress 2 (feat. Despacito 3)

Commander / EDH*

Wargles

Hello everyone,

This is my second deck (both with Yennett as a commander). In my first deck, it was a fairly standard Yennett deck (big bois and ways of manipulating the top of the deck). It was and still is fun. I then thought, what other kinds of Yennett decks can exist? Yennett can help with casting any kind of card with an odd CMC. This makes high CMC casts possible at early game, or at least increases card-draw. I decided to take this and turn it towards casting big enchantments that can convey a variety of advantages allowing for several win-cons, or at least control over other players.

Wincons: -Mill combo: Fleetswallower + Fraying Sanity (or Zur attacking) (this can easily one shot a player, but relies on Yennett to cast early game) Whats more, there are ways to copy and re-play Fraying Sanity.

-Army of Angels: Combining the token generating potential of the deck and the various control elements in the deck, raising an army of 4/4 angels is indeed a plausible wincon

-Big Boi Smack: Emrakul and Artisan of Kozilek can do a lot of damage depending on when they come into the field. Combine that with strong, big spells ( In Garruk's Wake , Clone Legion , Rise of the Dark Realms ) and big bois that have a lot of control ( Void Winnower ), and you can be a massive threat in not a lot of time.

Deck Features: -The deck has some cards that synergize very well with the deck (In Despacito3)

-Zur obviously can summon any of the 3-mana enchantments (including the copy enchantments, most taxman, and really strong top deck manipulation). If he gets a single attack off he can very well flip the odds in my favor

- Isochron Scepter + Silence / Brainstorm / Portent / Lim-Dul's Vault is powerful whether its manipulating the top of the deck or oppressing someone on their own turn (or everyone on yours)

- Alhammarret's Archive synergizes with Yennett and any card-draw (combine with Isochron+Brainstorm and you have a lot of card-draw)

- Rings of Brighthearth can synergize with all non-trigger abilities. This is especially strong with fetchlands and token generators.

-The deck can manipulate both your and other people's graveyards

- Hedonist's Trove lets you play from people's graveyards effectively (you can play everyone's graveyard using Copy Enchantment & Estrid's Invocation )

- Bojuka Bog + Return Lands = exile multiple graveyards, multiple times

- Grave Betrayal capitalizes on dying creatures, killed by In Garruk's Wake , potentially revived by Rise of the Dark Realms

- Debtors' Knell makes milling yourself via Fleetswallower a potentially valid tactic

- Starfield of Nyx and Silent Sentinel compliment this.

Thats all I'm writing for now. Suggestions and comments deeply appreciated!

Updates Add

After playing it, it does seem like I need some more lands, but not many (card-draw and digging with Ponder, Brainstorm, and Soothsaying seems to be working well.

I think I will remove Grave Betrayal, Daxos, and Ajani's Chosen. Grave Betrayal doesn't seem to payoff very often and it usually just sits in my hand. While I should be playing a bunch of enchantments, Daxos and Ajani don't seem to ever be near the field when this is going on. It would probably be better to remove them for a more all-around creature, enchantment, or removal.

I'm considering adding Aura Thief, Steel of the Godhead, and Helm of the Ghastlord since they all seem like inexpensive and consistently good cards.

I'm also considering adding As Foretold, as it seems like a pretty solid card and cheap enchantment.

The tokens sub-theme seems to not be as relevant as often as I thought it would be It might be because Ajanis and Daxos aren't really "good" token generators. Whenever Ghoulcaller Gisa and Endrek Sahr enter the field they tend to make a solid impact. I'm considering gutting the tokens subtheme, which would end up creating about 5 spaces to work with (as Entreat the Angels, Ghoulcaller, and Endrek Sahr are good on their own). I may experiment with adding more card-draw.
