I've got a growing list of commanders I want to build, but I think I'll make this a priority so I can do something with my Yeva, Nature's Herald that's just been sitting in my binder.

Abzkaban: You are certainly most welcomed! I just want to spread the news that Yeva is something more than she lets up. Also, I removed Dryad Arbor and Deserted Temple which lowered the cost to a little under $200. I will continue chipping away at the overall cost without ever compromising the fundamentals of the deck, so stay tuned! :D

I still need to add a couple of things and the non-budget deck has been my priority since it's the one that gets the most testing. Live changes have been made to the budget version, but this list isn't reflective of that, so stay tuned for some changes!

Really cool deck! I'm glad you built a version for us mortals who have to play edh on a budget. I've been playing a proxy version of the budget deck with my friends for a few days (I like to get a feel for how a deck plays before I buy it) and I have some feedback to share. The main problem I've run into is I can make a ton of mana, but don't have anything to do with it. Maybe I've been keeping hands that should be mulligans because all they do is make a lot of mana, but I think the deck is struggling from having a few less tutors than the non budget version (obviously since tutors can be expensive). Elvish Harbinger is kinda weird and definitely slow but does the job of getting Priest of Titania or Elvish Archdruid if you need mana or Fierce Empath or Fauna Shaman for more tutoring or even something like Reclamation Sage if you really need it. It's also an elf for all the elf synergies. Time of Need is definitely niche but can get Marwyn, the Nurturer or Yisan, the Wanderer Bard in a pinch. On the other hand, maybe it's worth considering playing some regular old card draw to replace the lost tutors. Guardian Project is a strictly worse Beast Whisperer (not an elf) but is a consideration for the budget build. Also, how do you feel about Quest for Renewal ? It's definitely slow, but might be worth it in a budget deck like this which isn't trying to be as fast as possible. Finally, I found that Scryb Ranger really underperforms. Being two more mana than Quirion Ranger and not an elf really hurts, and I'm not sure if you need two copies of the effect in the deck anyway. I've been destroying with the deck (my playgroup is seriously about edh, but I wouldn't consider it cutthroat competitive) and find it super fun to play.

BobL: I am utterly elated to receive the first comment with actual constructive criticism (with hands-on experience) and criticism that I don't intend on taking lightly. However, I would love to hear even more about your experiences, so I was hoping you wouldn't mind adding me on Discord Inkmoth#4507 (if you have one) or your preferred method of contact, I'd like to know every shortcoming, so that I may find a way to fix it.

Elvish Harbinger : Will be going in the deck, as per your recommendation. It makes total sense, especially when you get some of the best tutors the deck has to offer. I was REALLY against it in the non-budget, but in this deck is seems more than perfect.

Guardian Project : Another one I wasn't a fan off during the developmental stages of the non-budget, but it seems perfect in this context. I will also be looking for a slot to put this one in.

Scryb Ranger : It's been one of those cards that I REALLY wanted a slot for in the non-budget version, but never could. I stuck it in here recently and the 3 games I've had with it in, it never showed up, so it hadn't gone through the rigorous testing I tend to put cards through and for that I apologize. I figured if the main deck wanted it so much, why not stick it in the budget version since we lost Instill Energy .

Inkmoth: Happy to help! I added you on discord (username AcademyHeadmaster), but I'm not super well-versed with the platform so let me know if you don't get my message. In terms of the deck, I've got some more ideas to fix the card flow problem. Upon further consideration I don't think my previous suggestion of Guardian Project will cut it (too slow, not a creature for yeva, and you already played a lot of creatures by the time you drop the enchantment anyway). Multani's Acolyte might be enough as a second, albeit worse, Elvish Visionary . I wouldn't mind increasing the number of elves for the mana producers who rely on it and I found that Generous Patron type effects really overperform. As you said in the primer, it's an early body that replaces itself and can later be important as an elf for mana producers or for Growing Rites of Itlimoc  ^Flip. Similarly, how much would it hurt to run Viridian Zealot over Caustic Caterpillar . I think the elf synergies justify the one extra cmc in this budget build. Sometimes you just need one more elf for Priest of Titania type effects to go infinite and in that case I wouldn't mind just running out Viridian Zealot . Finally, I've found that Cryptolith Rite has underperformed. Too many of your cards already produce mana and you don't want to be running out cards like Reclamation Sage just to tap because you have a rite out. Maybe Joraga Treespeaker as another mana elf? I'm going to try these changes for now and I'll get back to you on their performance

After pleasant brainstorming session with BobL, we made changes to better fit the shortcomings of the budget version of the deck. He has also been added as an editor, since he will be putting in more time into testing the deck and letting me know what fails and what can be improved.

the new Nissa from War of the Spark might be great in this deck, since she makes all your lands indestructible with her ultimate. pair that with Ambush Commander and you have an army of indestructible 1/1's and if you run Ezuri, you can make them 4/4's. I do understand that this is budget and Nissa might cost a lot, we don't really know yet, Ezuri might be out of reach since he's 4 $, but it is something to consider for those that can afford it.

I saw the new update on the original list, where you got rid of Cloudstone Curio and made other additions. Is it still a mainstay in this deck or should it be taken out as well?

toastySmorc: I'm actually working on implementing the changes made to the main one and how they affect this one as well, but once one change is made I have to scour the whole guide to make sure I didn't over look something. It most likely will come out though, as you'd expect.

Inkmoth. Alrighty. I'm considering this deck as a friendly but competitive deck for my playgroup and I'm trying to find a slot for my Paradox Engine . Curio is quite a big chunk of money that I can save on if I can cut it.

Thanks for making a budget version by the way. Have playtested it a little and it's incredibly fun. It turns my brain to toasted pink soft serve, but it's fun.

Once the deck started turning into what it is now, I myself would stutter and it was an absolute drag for my pod as I would sit there thinking for about 10-15mins at the end of someone's turn mindboggled with the amount of things you could possibly do to close efficiently. So I totally sympathize with your "soft serve" comment.

The Cloudstone Curio was removed because relying on it was as dependable as Staff of Domination and staff does everything curio hopes to achieve with less pieces. As of right now, Cloudstone Curio might need to stay, since it's a cheaper than Staff of Domination and you still need the contingency plan.

The budget version has had some neglect I'll be honest and upon looking at it there are a few changes that need to be made, and for you sir, I'll get right on them. Give me a week, since I want to play test the changes made as well and hopefully get rid of Cloudstone Curio .

As for your Paradox Engine , Ambush Commander would be your best bet, they clash in terms of synergy. Sorry for taking long on my response, my weekend has been super busy.
