You've probably already come across this card, but it popped up on facebook and I immediately thought of this deck.

Veilstone Amulet - not sure how heavy targeted removal is in your meta, but seems to have potential. Especially since it was never errated to give hexproof so it will get around Detection Tower and similar effects.

Yeah it was my first time seeing it as well. It just screams yeva or teferi.

That is a spicy card. I'm going to try it out. I have a Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves deck in my meta that should not win as often as it does. The ability to Fight with every wolf basically takes apart my board. Another protection, especially one that gives repeatable protection, may end up being strong.

Alright guys, this one is super spicy and WILD as hell to me, but I am considering Ashaya, Soul of the Wild swapping Thousand-Year Elixir. Here's why:

Thoughts guys, cause this is starting to look like a shoe-in.

Looks like a pretty easy swap! That's a serious amount of upside

Thoughts guys, cause this is starting to look like a shoe-in. Posted again to kickstart the discussion since T/O went down and I didn't even see l13199l's response (which I agree with).

AND to note that Quirion Ranger can bounce/reset itself with Ashaya on the field. This in mind, I think I am going to remove Cloudstone Curio OR Umbral Mantle for Scryb Ranger. Thoughts?

P.S. More SPICE!!

Earthcraft + Ashaya, Soul of the Wild + Quirion Ranger go infinite on their own!

Cloudstone over Mantle I think. Cloudstone needs several pieces which is what you’re doing with Scryb. Mantle goes infinite with a dork tapping for 4 or more. It’s so easy even if it’s at sorcery speed. Between the two the cut is a no brainer.

Also, it's our way to instant-speed answer Cyclonic Rift effects, Grasp of Fate, Chain of Vapor etc.

It makes our board lands, so they can't remove it to a ton of effects!

What happens when they try to strip mine Ashaya :P Joking and serious at the same time. Land hate is not uncommon in my meta, idk about yours, just something to look out for. I also love using song of the dryads on someone's commander, then try use enchantment removal so I use strip mine to kill their commander :D

Not sure if I mentioned any of the following in discord as my memory is shot but...

How often does gemtstone help you? Unless you're going deep into cEDH, as opposed to fringe cEDH, I feel it isn't necessary and having a nonbasic that doesn't do anything unless it's in your opening hand is not best in a deck with 1 drop elves, especially with your currently low basic count.

Geier Reach Sanitarium - What is the primary purpose of this card? I read the description yet am still confused. Gas in a pinch is nice but giving 3 opponents virtual card advantage, especially players with GY shenanigans is not worth it.

Blast Zone - A little slow, not necessary, but can interact with some problematic cards you listed in your description and might be worth considering.

Heroic Intervention - While you do have flash to mitigate boardwipes, it is still helpful.

Duskwatch Recruiter/Flip - The creature reducer part seems minimal, how often does he actually win you the game as an infinite mana outlet?

Profet93: To be honest, Strip Mine is not that prevalent in cEDH meta, at least in my experience. However, I wouldn't care too much if I lose something to any kind of hate. The deck is modal enough to shift gears. Ashaya, Soul of the Wild comes with its weaknesses, BUT it comes with a buttload strengths that far outweigh its downsides. This card also just supplements Temur Sabertooth by making the deck less reliant on him. Plus, we have Quirion Ranger (soon Scryb Ranger) to bounce it in a pinch.

I didn't know who you were on my discord, or I could've addressed all of these questions for you. Lmk who you are and I'd be happy to address any concerns or questions you might have.

  • Gemstone Caverns: Helps me EVERY time it's in my opening hand and I'm not first. It's a mild nuisance any other time. That alone is worth it and a VITAL part of the deck. We have a subpar general, we need all the speed we can get to keep up. This slot essential and most definitely optimal.

  • Blast Zone: The current density of colorless Mana is at the brink of overwhelming me with unusable Mana and I can't risk it for a symmetrical wipe that could hurt me unless I'm comboing out. It has applications and it COULD be useful, but I wouldn't run it in this version. Perhaps the budget version for sure. I'd put in Homeward Path before this though, as Gilded Drake is a constant threat.

  • Heroic Intervention: Love it, I want it, but I have Veil of Summer in that spot. I can't afford to remove something for a protection piece, even it's that great. However, if you find that your meta warrants this card, then by all means, run it. It's a helluva card and it's bound to help.

  • Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip: Has been absolutely necessary and the second best outlet in the deck. When we get infinite we are in reality trying to assemble: Ulvenwald Tracker, Shaman of Forgotten Ways, and Thousand-Year Elixir. To do this we need Genesis Hydra, but we don't want to draw into the Elixir. Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip gets us Genesis Hydra without drawing into it. Also allows me to re order the ENTIRE library to avoid certain pieces. It digs quite effectively and with Seedborn Muse it's insane. The cost reducer is actually quite great in early turns, since we can land drop and not cast anything, since we do it on other turns. It's a digger, outlet, cost reducer, and a fail-safe on a 2 mana creature.

I'm profet93 on the discord as well, same username. I was the guy who recomended Nyela's Intervention > Sylvan scrying

All of your points are well taken, I do not play fast cEDH combo so while this isn't my area of expertise, it's a cool deck that I look forward to seeing how it develops as sets are released.

Still curious about Geir Reach Sanitarium.

Profet93: oh fuck, I knew I forgot to address something.

As for the Nylea's Intervention I'm still on the fence about that one as I definitely prefer paying 2 mana rather than three. I'll get back to you on that one.

I'm currently wracking my brain over: Argothian Elder and Scryb Ranger.

Quite thrilled we got a bolt land, that you guys can assume is going right in as it doesn't take up a slot and a 7 Mana hail mary is better than a land in a pinch. (Turntimber Symbiosis)

SynergyBuild: You're always SUUUUUUCH an integral part of my Yeva discussions that it saddens me you weren't on the discord to see what just enveloped for the deck... If you have discord, please join, if you don't... let me give you teaser of what the deck is gonna look like.

Can't wait to hear your input as always. :)

Oh, I have thoughts.

Gimme a minute, I've had some recent irl issues, but I'll manage xD, I have been studying every possible combo and synergy that Ashaya, Soul of the Wild breaks, tossed a bunch more of the casual ones up in a forum post, but I kept the best myself ;)

So I'm just tossing in my agreement that Ashaya, Soul of the Wild is ridonkulous. This has been a fantastic year for mono green. Lol

Guys, lol, I'm even considering Gemrazer.

September 7, 2020 2:02 p.m.

Kamerot says... #22

Is that purely because of how easy it'll be to bounce and repeat?

September 7, 2020 3:10 p.m.

Abzkaban says... #23

Kamerot

It gets around Torpor Orb, too.

September 7, 2020 3:39 p.m.

Inkmoth says... #24

Kamerot: This is the one element of mutate I am not understanding, and if you can clarify what you mean by that, you might just add to my reasons lol.

So, Caustic Caterpillar was an answer to Torpor Orb, but lately Drannith Magistrate/Linvala, Keeper of Silence have been more problematic. Ram Through eliminates them while being cheaper than Caustics ability and becoming an alt win con. In comes Gemrazer, looking to replace Reclamation Sage. It can save key pieces while being able to kill Torpor Orb AND Cursed Totem, also back up trample for Ram Through, and the possibility of blocking Aven Mindcensor/Linvala, Keeper of Silence. Ashaya makes Mana dork lines so minimal that we only ever need the dork to produce 1-3 Mana to win, so we can stand to lose an elf for the priest (our only elf reliant line btw).

But, please tell me more on repeatability of Gemrazer.

September 7, 2020 3:52 p.m.

Inkmoth which element of mutate are you not understanding? bouncing and repeating a Gemrazer?
