This is a starter commander deck for my wife. She's played a bit of standard, so she knows the basic rules and already knows what she likes and dislikes in a deck. Here are her requirements:

• She doesn't want to spend a lot of money, so we're talking <$27 for the whole deck.
• She's fine with not having the best cards in magic. This isn't going to be a hardcore competitive deck, just a solid one for casual group commander play.
• Green is her favorite mana color. She'd accept some blue and is curious about white, but mono-green would be great if viable.
• She favors creatures over non-creature spells, just finds them to be more interesting.
• She'd prefer a female commander and one that's not too aggressive herself.
• She likes to have lots of mana at her disposal and that's more important to her than card draw.
• She'd prefer not to rely on combos or complex interactions, because she doesn't want to take long turns.
• She also doesn't like the complexity of counters or tokens. She doesn't want to need anything more than her cards.
• She hates getting countered or shut down, so she probably needs some protection for her creatures.
• She loves a beautiful card and would prefer the beauty side of green as opposed to the ugly beast side, but a beautiful beast is great.

So my thoughts are to build a mono-green Yeva, Nature's Herald deck with lots of "enters the battlefield" creatures that can act as her instant responses and allow her to play creatures before the beginning of her next upkeep, so opponents can't remove stuff she played last turn. I figure this will also keep the deck pretty inexpensive as well. I did however break the rule about no counters or tokens...a lot. Seemed like a good idea though.
