Deck verified current as of 8/16/18. The maybeboard is the current 'consideration' list and includes all wants/maybes up to Commander 2018. Generally, I am happy where this deck is, but I always welcome suggestions. Great suggestions will be added to the maybeboard. (and probably play-tested) Sometimes you just get that under-performing card and want a quick swap out idea.
Shooting for the unconventional here: Yidris Ping! Yes, you read correctly. A pinger deck. (i.e. 21 Gun Salute)
I've always wanted a ping deck and found only attempts where the disclaimer is 'This deck is probably not viable'. Well, you're in luck! Because here, my disclaimer is STILL 'Not sure if this will be viable'. Anyhow, here goes:
Grixis is possibly the best color combo for an attempt at a ping deck. Yidris give us that PLUS green! I'll explain why that is totally awesome in a minute. First, the '21 Guns' (I tried to pick the best pingers based on CMC value, power of effect, and abuse-ability with other abilities)
21 Guns
1) Goblin Sharpshooter - This guy is first as well as front and center! Wipes 1/1'ss and does work as things die.
2) Deathbringer Thoctar - Bigger, slower sharpshooter.
3) Endbringer - Solid creature, automatically untaps on every turn, AND has card draw!
4) Gelectrode - Has the option to untap multiple times a turn.
5) Inferno Titan - Must attack BUT is a solid defender AND blazes for 3!
6) Jeska, Warrior Adept - First strike & Haste!
7) Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind - All around bad ass. Ping and card draw!
8) Olivia Voldaren - Ping is rather inefficient, but has the steal threat!
9) Razorfin Hunter - Cheap! Drops on turn 2 (theoretically)
10) Butcher Orgg - Not really a pinger per se, but with any of the 'enhancements' (ie. deathtouch) this guy is lethal... and fun.
11) Vulshok Sorcerer - Haste!
12) Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh
- She can become so much more!
13) Cunning Sparkmage - Haste!
14) Triskelion - Great little shocker!
15) Frostwielder - Nothing special, until she chimes in with her exile knock out punch!
16) Kumano, Master Yamabushi - See # 15!
17) Keranos, God of Storms - The ping is mildly conditional, but he is still one bad @$$ body.
18) Fledgling Mawcor - Cheaper, smaller #17.
19) Kamahl, Pit Fighter - 3 damage + Haste!
20) Prodigal Sorcerer - Meh
21) Prodigal Pyromancer - Meh
The extra:
Ronin Cliffrider - Pings but ALSO does some cool stuff with later cards! Sorta along the lines of Butcher Orgg
But what does Green bring to the table?
Seedborn Muse - Untap ALL pingers on ALL turns!
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa - Underwhelming until you realize 'HEY, can't I make that Maze of Ith or Rogue's Passage into a 1/1 creature???
Vigor - Ping your own stuff. Ping your commander. Or block with 1/1 pingers. The possibilities are endless.

Thornbite Staff - Any pinger becomes a Sharpshooter!
Dismiss into Dream - What creatures?

How to play the deck
You want to sit and turtle/threaten to kill/politic until you can drop a game changer. Its fiarly effective at thwarting attacks. Do not be the aggressor until you have a win/kill shot.
