Volo was my return to paper magic/commander deck build. The idea is basically a pretty standard Volo package, ramp up and get Volo out asap and do what you can to protect him with while you pump out a lot of fantastic cards and get double the value. I made a point of not having a single repeat creature type as to avoid any loss of trigger from Volo. Win conditions besides just sheer creature/board advantage is stuff like Craterhoof Behemoth or End-Raze Forerunners, which are often game-enders on their own, and with any luck you'll have Volo out for two of them.
