Do you mind if I try my hand of a Budget version of this deck?

It would be appreciated if you could add a link to my deck in your description. It will help increase traffic for this deck so it could help us both out.

brandontraps, Through my research, I have consistently found sites saying that Vision Skeins is modern legal. It was printed in Dissension. It was printed twice in commander so I can see that you may have been confused in that regard. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This is way cool; something like reverse 8-Rack. Awesome!

Vision Skeins is definitely Modern legal. Standstill on the other hand, is not. Forced Fruition would get you even better results (by raw numbers), though it's probably too slow at 6 CMC. Especially since aggro is this deck's weak point.

Font of Mythos would also do similar work for you as Otherworld Atlas.

I like this concept a lot, btw! +1

The only negative thing about Forced Fruition besides the CMC is that it only applies to my opponents. Although my goal is to make them draw often, it is unwise to make them do so if I can not draw as well. For draw spells I think Windfall, Molten Psyche, or Jace's Archivist might do me a lot better unless I want to increase the amount of other cards in my deck.

I used to think that Font of Mythos was a little too slow for this deck but I can easily replace Otherworld Atlas with it if I really want to. The good thing about Otherworld Atlas is that I can time the draws. For instance, if I don't have anything in hand that is useful I can pass the turn and wait until the very end of their turn to make us all draw or I can add a counter to it. I will have to do some play testing with it but I feel like Otherworld Atlas is strictly more useful for its cost since switching out temple bell would make it slightly harder to turn out those draw cards every turn.

Thanks for the +1 _ I am glad people are enjoying the concept!

If you are drawing tons of cards, why not give Seismic Assault a try? Instant speed and doesn't require mana to activate. Could be interesting! Maybe try that over Master the Way?

Thanks for the suggestion but if that was a discard any card then it would be nice. However, it is a land discard and land is something this deck pretty much needs to keep up the pace with other decks. It might be useful after turn 7 if I get every land drop but at that point I am more then likely to have all of my combo pieces in place ready to make the final strike.

Thanks shadow63. It is already in my sideboard :P Just need to play test it to see how it actually does in my deck.

Wow no Archive Trap?

January 25, 2016 7:29 p.m.

Kievnstavick says... #18

Well for starters the key word is search. Not a lot of people i play with search their libraries often. I havent played in a modern tournament yet so i dont know how it will hold up there. Secondly, my deck isnt about milling. My decks purpose is to burn for each card in the hand or each card drawn.

I see that I thought one of the burn spells was affected by archive trap for some reason. I just thought it also fit into your theme and could stump an opponent too, goes great with Surgical Extraction. But yeah doesn't work with this plan. Kind of reminds me of the opposite of 8 rack decks.

Cool deck, but you should probably remove Propaganda since it's not modern legal. Maybe replace with Sleep, Crippling Chill or even AEtherize?

Kievnstavick says... #22

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah I am still kind of looking for a decent replacement for Propaganda. I think Sleep might be more up my alley for this deck but we will see.

Got another suggestion for you: The new Fevered Visions from SOI. Looks pretty solid for a deck like this

Thanks for the suggestion. I got my hands on some from packs that I opened. I believe I am running 2-3 of them right now. I can say with some play testing, that it does fairly well paired with my Owls and Draw artifacts. Still looking into things to speed up my mana production at the moment.
