I have to suggest Contagion Engine and Serrated Arrows.

@PauperPower Thanks for the upvote, Necroskitter is actually in there, Contagion Engine and Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon cost a bit too much for me to keep it budget. But I'll put a Serrated Arrows in my sideboard and test it. It seems a bit on the slow side but putting -1/-1 counter for free on something 3 turns in a row is pretty good.

I'm also no big fan of how the infect mechanic isn't balanced for commander lifetotals and thus it being such a cheesy win. Because of that I refrain from putting infect cards into the deck.

No problem! Sorry about that. Yeah the engine needs a reprint to bring that price down in my opinion. Yeah the arrows could be a great budget replacement for Contagion Engine. I know there was an instant or sorcery from Ahmonket the gave -1/-1 counters, but I can't for the life of me remember it.

@ PauperPower Hmmmm, Grim Affliction looks a bit costly a 3 mana instant that drops one -1/-1. My commander and other permanents have the effect for as much of the cost or even cheaper. The profilate is nice but I don't really care much if creatures succumb due overwhelming -1/-1 counters. The main use for stuffing -1/-1 counters on creatures is to generate draw with The Scorpion God

I was going to say the best part of it is the proliferate. That could be a lot of draw triggers with -1/-1 on X/2's. Plus the instant speed proliferate is nice.

@PauperPower It can be a massive draw card yeah. But it too is very situational. Either there must be a bunch of creatures that lack that final -1/-1 counter to die. And I could only give one 1/1 a counter. I'll try it out. But to me it seems too dependable on a specific boardstate to be very impactful. I got some other 3 mana draw cards but those atleast give me draw whenever.

Big thing in EDH for me is not to stuff a deck too much with things that'd make my boardstate better when I already have a winning boardstate. I made and learned from that mistake with my Nath of the Gilt-Leave brew already. Stuffing it with a bunch of discard punishment cards seems really good but in the end it's too dependable on the handsize of other players and my ability to make them discard to be effective.

How much success are you getting from Words of Waste I was thinking of upgrading it to Oppression or would you recommend against it

floopthepig It can dump loads with all the draw you can generate from a wipe or a bunch of things dying whenvThe Scorpion God is on the board. I tend to favor it because it lets me control opponents their hands with all the draw this deck produces. I got rid of Oppression in the deck because of the hate you get after slamming that one on the table. Especially if you smack it down on curve it's basically all eyes on you from that point onward.
