When it comes to some deck types, I'm still a bit confused at times. With the current build, I want to say it's a bit of the midrange kind of deck. Now, onto the major players!

AEtherling- With every deck, there's always a 1-of for a good reason. Definitely a win con.

Sylvan Primordial- Originally in the sideboard, Sylvan Primordial has saved me in a number of games, whether it's getting rid of a Pithing Needle or a Banishing Light.

Desecration Demon + Scavenging Ooze- Two of the most beneficial creatures. If my opponents are sacrificing with D. Demon, then Scooze has exile fodder, meaning more life and counters for him.

Pharika, God of Affliction- Still in the testing phases, but she's proven incredibly useful. If I need blockers, and I have creatures in the grave, I'm okay. And if my opponent has a Scavenging Ooze, then I can use Pharika's ability to exile my graveyard first while providing blockers that kill.

Sylvan Caryatid- One of my favorite mana dorks. Makes any color? Check. Has a decent body on it? Check. Hexproof to counter any burn spells? Check. Anything better and it'd be a mythic.

Courser of Kruphix- When originally running this as a control deck, life loss was a huge problem. Courser has easily aided the problem, and cleared the land-flooding I sometimes had. Sure, everyone gets to see what's next, but it won't matter once the ball gets rolling.

Prophet of Kruphix- The prophet has become yet another staple here. No more having to worry about having blockers or open mana to counter with. And if your opponent decided to tap down Desecration Demon on your turn, he comes back for Round 2.

The instants in here either counter or kill in one way or another, while the sorceries provide much-needed card advantage.

As always, I'd love some feedback on what might be more useful and such.

So this was kind of interesting, since I've never done an open before until now. I switched Pharika to the sideboard and Ashiok to the main, as well as 2 extra Kioras, just to see if it would work. So here's how it went...

Match 1: Esper Control, 0-2

This was no fun at all. Game 1 was him either killing or countering everything, and he was able to throw out Elspeth. Game 2 was a little better, though I made a crucial error. I thought I didn't have enough mana to overload Cyclonic Rift to send his tokens away, but only realized I did after. Needless to say, it ended shortly after that turn.

Match 2: Dimir Inspired/Suicider, 2-0

This was apparently a featured match, though it was at a side table without cameras. Oddly enough, this was my best match. Game 1, Ashiok came out early and milled out a majority of his threats. Game 2, I sided in both Mistcutters, which payed off. His only creatures out were Dakra Mystic and Pain Seer; everything else was countered. Mistcutters came in for 4 and 5, one turn after another, and it finished up rather quickly at that point.

Match 3: Jund Monsters, 0-2

I never saw this match coming. Both games were fairly close, but my deck ran out of gas. Game 2 saw Sylvan Primordial, as well as 2 Vraskas on my side, one after the other. However, it wasn't going to save me from a Flesh/Blood on Sylvan to his Courser of Kruphix.

Match 4: Monoblack Devotion, 1-2

This was my most frustrating match-up. Game 1 had him scoop after busting out Kiora's emblem. Game 2 had him getting rid of my threats, and hitting me with Gray Merchant. Game 3 was extremely close. After both of us going down to barely any life, I had Kiora's Emblem, a few krakens, and plenty of hitters. All I needed was a turn. He then drops Nightveil Specter, then Gray Merchant, with no counter spells in hand.

Needless to say, I've learned plenty from this. As always, can use plenty of suggestions.
