ChaosJester no problem! It's 1am here (I dunno what time it is where you live haha) and I understand the forgetfulness haha.

Deck looks sweet, but I would strongly recommend playing Cathars' Crusade over Gleam of Battle as Cathars' Crusade triggers once from the vampire you play and once for the token Markov gives, meaning each time you play a vampire you put two +1/+1 counters on each creature you control, which is much stronger than only one counter when they attack. Another suggestion would be to play Kalastria Highborn over Blood Seeker as it is a much better vampire 2 drop especially since you have a life gain sub theme.
August 18, 2017 7:24 p.m.
LegalizeRanch I've looked at a few of the Edgar Markov decks, and quite a few of the suggestions were Cathars' Crusade. I'll add it in since the reason is very justified: 2 +1/+1 counters a vampire being cast? I'll take it! Kalastria Highborn is a card I'm gonna have to get later on, but she's super good! I do agree Blood Seeker is a tad subpar since he relies on your opponents.
Thanks for the suggestions and upvote!

Hey there, I was brewing my own deck earlier and Cryptic Gateway popped into my head, what are your thoughts on it here? I think it's a little expensive but it's a bit like a budget Sneak Attack here.
August 18, 2017 11:22 p.m.
dlamars the only thing is, I'd rather have my vampires cast to get the maximum value off of Edgar. Appreciate the suggestion, however! Feel free to post your take on the deck since I'm always curious as to what other people are using.

I don't really know too many vampires off the top of my head, but a personal favorite of mine is Gatekeeper of Malakir. Good luck with this, it looks like fun!

Dang it! You beat me to an Edgar Markov deck. :P Looks good. You could definitely put some sorin's in here though.
August 21, 2017 12:42 p.m.
TheSpiritombEnthusiast I'll consider adding in Gatekeeper of Malakir, the only hesitation I have is it's just target player, and usually I gear my EDH decks more towards multiplayer games so he wouldn't have much impact, sadly. :(
Darkshadow327 there's always room for Edgar Markov decks. ;) I really like some of the Sorins, will pick some up once I'm done with another EDH project haha.
Thanks for all the advice and upvotes! I believe this is the 3rd highest-ranking Edgar Markov deck and now the 14h highest-ranking deck on T/O! I can't thank you all enough!

I think Anointed Procession would go nicely with Edgar Markov and can double the effect of Whenever-ETB effects like Impact Tremors.

There is always room, I just finished my deck yesterday Lord Markov Rules Here. I don't think it's as good as yours though :P

Raptorlisk true (pun intended), I'll make the change, and actually gonna pick up the rest of the deck today so I appreciate any last-minute swap-ins. :)
Shirkhan92 I definitely agree! I have a friend who has one for trade so it's a matter of when I'm gonna see him next time.
Darkshadow327 will check it out, and I'll make some suggestions to help make it as good as mine. ;)
Thanks for the suggestions!

I think honestly Blood Tribute just isn't as good as Sorin Markov... I wanted to like BT but Sorin does BT's job but better for the same price AND has more utility. Otherwise I like the deck with the exception of Blood Baron, which I have just accepted is going to be in Markov decks... It's just WAY too situational.
August 23, 2017 5:35 p.m.
DrkNinja Appreciate the suggestion, I'd love Sorin Markov for the deck, he's just a tad too pricey at the moment with all mt EDH projects going on. However, I'll add him in as soon as I have the funding for him!
I agree with Blood Baron tbh, he's in a similar boat as with Vampire Nighthawk and other vamps that were suggested for this deck. He's situational, as you said. The only problem is I don't know exactly what to add except some cards from Ixalan that aren't out just yet (The bishop one). As soon as we get more vamps in Ixalan, there's gonna be some major facelifts for this deck!
Thanks for the advice!

Triton: The abzan lords would be good, they all say if a creature has a +1/+1 counter on it they get Deathtouch/Lifelink/Flying
Just saw this on the Command Zone podcast.

"My landbase isn't good!" says the man with multiple untapped lands that make any color.
But I like the idea of this. My main concern is the over-reliance on black. Vampires have always been a very discriminatory tribe when it comes to devotion, and the large leanings could pose unwell for you. I'd probably remove some of the double-black vampires, especially in the 5-drop slot that you'll very likely be using to cast Edgar during your initial curve-out, and sub in some more handy noncreature destruction like Forsake the Worldly or Angelic Purge (especially Purge considering that you spit out sac fodder like it's nothing).
August 25, 2017 11:22 p.m.
DrkNinja I think the lords are pretty good, burn so far I haven't drawn into any of the counter stuff and found no need for the abilities (well maybe lifelink). Also I'd rather stick to all vampires. I'll consider them for now, however!
Deepstriker29 lol I like more optimized land bases for 3+ color decks, my end goal being having all the shocks in my general's color identity. I've honestly not had the need to cast Edgar too much, I only did twice in the game I played against someone so I'll consider cutting down the 5-drops.
Thanks for all the suggestions!

If you want to be extra gross and feel like you're cheating... try Reconnaissance. This card allows you to be hyper agressive and attack all-out while avoiding any unfavorable blocks (this is the 'fair' use).
This card also allows you to untap any first stike vampires like Edgar Markov or Drana, Liberator of Malakir after first strike damage is dealt but before normal combat damage is dealt. (handy for getting +1+1 counters from Drana to your whole team)... obviously busted with Stromkirk Captain. This card also allows you to untap after normal combat damage is dealt for pseudo vigilance as the creature is considered an 'attacking creature' all the way until the end of combat stage.
Anyways, here's my decklist... feel free to leave feedback or suggesions. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/edgars-dega-vampires/

If you're in the market for flexible answer-type of cards for this deck, BW pretty much has them all. Utter End, Anguished Unmaking, and Vindicate (thanks to EMA reprint) are all fairly inexpensive to get and do wonders as answers. They're a little more flexible than Crib Swap or Mortify imo. The theros scrylands are also a budget upgrade to some of your non-lifegain taplands like Urborg Volcano, and can help dig for the cards you want to find.

Nice deck +1! Take a look at my Vampire: the Masquerade (Edgar EDH). Leave your opinion and a upvote if possible

Last_Laugh Will add Reconnaisance once I find one! It's such a good card, thanks!
Darkshadow327 Thank you! I'm very proud of this deck and how much it's grown over the past couple weeks!
GeminiSpartanX I do have some of the cards, but they're in another deck at the moment. However, if I come across any for trade I'll definitely try getting them for this deck.
aekrusty left a comment, hope you find it helpful! ;)
Thanks for all your support everyone!
