I considered adding Siege Rhino, but it didn't feel as relevant to the counter theme as the other 4-cost creatures. I'm not really going for lifegain, and while the Rhino is a great creature, I'd rather have Daghatar the Adamant come in with six counters from two Hardened Scales.

Obviously I second Siege Rhino, if you've never seen it in action it can really turn a game around. I can distract opponents with it, make them waste a counterspell, all while building counters on other creatures. I also recommend Abzan Ascendancy (it can help remove the need for mediocre flying blockers) and Dromoka's Command, which can be a cheap counter adder as well as a pseudo-removal (via the fight mechanic or enchantment sacrifice).

Sorry but I'm going to also suggest Siege Rhino if you're playing Abzan.
Yes, he doesn't get extra counters, but you can't rely on Hardened Scales always being on the field.
Maybe Sideboard him for difficult matchups?
That being said, I do like how this deck played. Particularly the use of Dromoka, the Eternal.
+1 from me.

Thanks! That's what I'm beginning to think for the rhino - he's not essential to the flow of the deck, but he'd still be useful.
