Always wanted to play a control deck, and by messing around, I managed to create a cheap, effective "budget" deck. "budget". I say "budget" since its still $80 (not including sideboard), but it is noticeably cheaper than any other tri-control deck, which are normally $500+. Sadly, this means I cut the control staples, all shock lands, Jace, Architect of Thought , and Sphinx's Revelation specifically.

The deck works by keeping the board clear until Assemble the Legion can be played. It originally used Haunted Plate Mail but that has been changed to both AEtherling and Jace, Memory Adept as they are both more reliable win conditions.

Psychic Spiral is an amazing counter to mill decks, which are the bane of any control deck.
