Commander: Anafenza, the Foremost

This is my first attempt at a commander deck, feedback is very much appreciated. The theme of the deck is boosting creatures with lots and lots of +1/+1 counters and beating down on opponents, elegant it may not be but i hope it is effective. Without further ado, let me introduce you to our commander.enter image description here

I've chosen Anafenza, the Foremost over Daghatar the Adamant and Ghave, Guru of Spores as i can get her down on turn 2 if i have Chrome Mox in hand and begin to accrue commander damage on turn 3, and can have her deal 21 damage if unanswered by turn 4 if we have a nice draw. Plus she gives a +1/+1 to another creature each turn, which with enchantments and/or Corpsejack Menace down can quickly get crazy. I also like that the deck is completely viable without her to avoid spoiling the fun when playing against a deck that relies heavily on graveyard interactions.

Turn 2: Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Cast Anafenza, the Foremost

Turn 3:Cast Ordeal of Nylea on Anafenza. Attack with Anafenza and servant of the scale. (Anafenza is a 6/6 from ordeal of nylea and servant of the scale is now a +4+/4) 6 commander damage

Turn 4: Attack with both (anafenza is now 8/8 and servant is +6/+6) Cast Mortify or Putrefy targeting servant, place the counters on anafenza so she's now a 15/15. total commander damage 21- game over.

Of course the chances of this happening are small, but it's easy to see how fast anafenza can hit the 21 commander damage if left unchecked.

Experiment One:- A creature that can quickly grow big after only a few turns for very little mana investment and it can regenerate itself for a cost of +1/+1 counters, a resource readily available in this deck.

Servant of the Scale:- A counter bank that let's us redistribute the power after death and often doubling it. As seen above self killing to pump our commander is a viable win con.

Warden of the First Tree :- For an investment of 6 mana we can have a 3/3 lifelink trample, which doesn't sound very impressive, but with all the other ways of getting tokens on it, it can become very threatening.

Aegis of the Gods:- This, priveleged position and Avacyn, Angel of Hope or elspeth, knights errant ultimate means immunity from pretty much everything barring mass exile and other trickery shenanigans

Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit:-A constant counter generator whenever we put another creature down.

These cards are 2 drops minimum for any functional use from them other than putting a counter on Ob Nixilis, Unshackled

Hangarback Walker:- An early game blocker that can get bigger and bigger, even better when it dies as all the thopters can be boosted to be big flying threats.

Mikaeus, the Lunarch:- A big counter producing engine that pumps up all our other creatures and doesn't use any mana to do it once cast.

Protean Hydra :- If your opponents can't kill it with an attack or spell they aren't going to be attacking into it. Great in combo with Retribution of the Ancients as every use means it gets bigger next turn to take out bigger threats

Drana, Liberator of Malakir:- A +1/+1 machine that rewards aggressive play, and the first strike means that other creatures damage is boosted on the same attack step.

Managorger Hydra:- In a multiplayer game, can get huge by the time your turn swings back around, and can hit through blockers with trample.

Genesis Hydra:- Ability lets us cheat out another creature/enchantment/planeswalker to get great advantage, best to wait until we have 7 mana available to get a 5 drop down on the board.

Hooded Hydra:- great for flooding the board with plenty of chump blockers after dying

Primordial Hydra:- has the potential to be huge after only a few turns and able to deal lethal damage on it's own.

Vastwood Hydra:- Another counter bank that redistributes on death, so no overall power is lost from the field, and very often ore is put back on thanks to our enchantments and beneficial creatures

Corpsejack Menace:- Double up on all counters makes this a key part of the deck and improves so many other cards in the deck.

Crovax the Cursed :- using his ability on Servant of the Scale or Vastwood Hydra, Hooded Hydra and Lifeblood Hydra get's extra bonus. Plus he gets evasion for

Daghatar the Adamant :- Vigilance and able to redistribute counters for 3 mana, it has great synergy with Protean Hydra increasing the overall power on the board.

Dragonscale General :- Another counter producer that rewards an aggressive stance, pumping up our weakest creature every turn.

Mindless Automaton:- Free card draw. An absolute card advantage engine, no need to use it's mana ability and discard, we have plenty of ways to get counters onto it.

Polukranos, World Eater:- a removal spell that happens to come with a base 5/5 body, many times it will survive it's monstosity activation thanks to the sheer number of counters accrued.

Lifeblood Hydra:- Massive card advantage when this dies, and life boost to boot. Real risk of decking myself if left to get too big so be prepared to kill it before then

Maga, Traitor to Mortals :- A victory condition in itself with all the counter boosts in play, it can hit for 40 for 8 mana.

**Elite Scaleguard:- With this in play, it's as good as the opponent having no creatures as they will be tapped down.

Ghave, Guru of Spores:- Another counter generator and also a token generator to flood the board if we want to overwhelm with sheer numbers.

Enduring Scalelord:- Every time this deck does it's thing, scalelord just gets bigger and bigger, and with evasion to boot.

Hydra Omnivore:- With this in play and attacking we can beat down everyone with one swing, and with the potential to have multiple counters on we could be winning the game with one swing

Ob Nixilis, Unshackled:- Prevents tutor and fetches without a heavy price. Plus it's a flying trample that gets counters everytime a creature, any creature dies.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope 8/8 flying vigilance, indestructible isn't enough, oh no, everything else we have is indestructable too. Alongside Aegis of the Gods and Privileged Position it gives us protection from most things.

Doubling Season Primal Vigor and Hardened Scales have the same base purpose of increasing the +1/+1 counters placed on creatures. Doubling seasons has the extra bonus of doubling up our planeswalkers as they enter so they can be ultimated on entry for many of them.

Ordeal of Nylea is good for early manafixing and ramp, and one possible route to an early win as detailed above.

Privileged Position grants everything hexproof to limit opponents interactions with our cards.

Retribution of the Ancients is absolutely deadly in this deck. Anything that hasn't got protection is going to die.

Cathars' Crusade boosts all our creatures adding to our +1/+1 stores.

Mortify PutrefyHaving instant speed kill spells provides us with opportunity to use our creatures abilities that activate when they die in response to an exile spell.

Anguished Unmaking Vindicate Lets us get rid of any big threats or vital combo element.

Unmake Swords to Plowshares Path to Exile Allows us to remove blockers if we're making an alpha strike. swords and path can be used with Isochron Scepter

Fate Forgotten Krosan Grip allows us to interupt a combo thanks to it's split second ability.

Eladamri's Call Lets us get what creature we need

Enlightened Tutor Idyllic Tutor Allows us to get the enchantment we need to be most effective, and increases our chances of getting on down in the game.

Chord of Calling I've chose this over Green Sun's Zenith so i can get avacyn, angel of hope onto the battlefield

Natural Order lets me get Enduring Scalelord or Hydra Omnivore down 2 turns sooner.

Aether Vial Chrome Mox Corrupted Grafstone Darksteel Ingot Everflowing Chalice provide us with more mana so we can cast more spells and hopefully get a nice board advantage

Elixir of Immortality Insurance for if our Lifeblood Hydra or Inspiring Call draw us too much and we've had to discard a lot of good cards.

Isochron Scepter great if we can get Dromoka's Command recastable throughout the game.
