You have choices, but they're all bad

So ,if Curse of the Cabal is entertaining, why not play it?

@Anublet90 I was definitely excited to see more choice cards come out, though their were very few that fit the colors of this deck and were good. I might try out Oracle of Bones and see what crazy free spells I can get out =D
@octopus13 While Curse of the Cabal is fun when it works, it rarely worked and was ultimately its downfall with my personal experience. With that said, I wouldn't judge anyone who made a variant of this deck and put Curse of the Cabal in there ;D

What do you think about adding some land enchantments like Contaminated Ground , Pooling Venom , or Blight ? I think it works with the choice theme.
April 24, 2014 5:46 a.m.
Oh man, Blight is just evil. Though I'm not sure I'd personally consider it a choice card since the opponent isn't given an ultimatum when these type of cards are played. Also they kinda get worse as the game goes on. Dropping one on turn 7+ probably won't do much.
However lets say I did consider it, what would I take out and how many would I put in?

maybe add Furnace of Wrath or Curse of Bloodletting to make the damage even worse. then maybe Havoc Festival or maybe even Sire Of Insanity to completely wreck your opponents
April 29, 2014 1:12 p.m.
I like the Furnace of Rath and Curse of Bloodletting idea, but I feel the mana cost is too high with a lot of the decks damage happening on turns 1-3. The other 2 aren't really choice based and I'm really trying to keep that theme as much as possible. I might play around with the 1st two suggestions though =)

I saw that Oracle of Bones is in your maybeboard already, but I feel like pushing it a bit more. It's normally a good card, but it's absolutely bonkers in a deck like this. If your opponent makes the choice not to increase its power, they have to make a second (and probably harder) choice instead! That card is just hilarious in this kind of set-up.

I somewhat agree, but there's a few things that worry me. What would a take out for it? Also how many spells would be consistently good targets? The 1 and 2 drops are either situational or not good to cast off him. So the only consistent spells I see are Choice of Damnations and Browbeat . Granted I do have the sideboard to consider.

Mogis, God of Slaughter is great for putting on the pressure while your control stuff goes to work. He clears out whatever area they have the most of after you cast your choice spells (dudes and life).
really like the deck btw +1

How about Menacing Ogre to push your creature count up a bit?

Love this deck :D
A fun endgame twist Mindslaver , not only to give your opponent choices but you make them for him :D

A really REALLY fun deck. It has the best of RB, cruel and burn. +1!

Surprised no one has mentioned - Liar's Pendulum or Measure of Wickedness

@ locopyro Those 2 are pretty sweet choice cards. Adding them to the list =)

I really enjoy this deck but I would suggest replacing the Blackcleave Cliffs with Badlands I haven't looked at your maybe board because there's too many cards there but how would you deal with card combos such as Energy Field and Rest in Peace ?
I feel like this deck is really fast so you don't need to worry about counterspells but they might be useful.
July 11, 2014 9:17 p.m.
@Raging_Bull Badlands is indeed a flat out upgrade, but the price pretty high for a set(would triple the cost of the deck). Though if you have them, more power to ya =D
I use the maybe board as a pool for any and all choice cards for ppl who might like this style of deck, but would like to build it differently. So most of what's in there wouldn't be considered putting in.
Energy Field would cripple this deck. Do or Die and Tyrannize could be sideboarded in, but it would still be a harsh fight. Lightning Bolt would work too, but that's only if the opponent puts something out to target.
Rest in Peace doesn't seems too bad. Probably sideboard out Reanimate for something else.
Counterspells are actually pretty effective against this deck from my personal exp. Especially during turns 2-4 since it relies on getting the opponent down to dangerously low life. That then makes their choices very difficult to make for the bigger/end-game cards.
July 11, 2014 10:30 p.m.
Oh, I see the combo. Yea that would butcher this deck completely.

Maybe throwing in some stuff that make the other player lose life instead of damage. Or enchantment destruction.I know the Badland will really raise the price of the deck and before when I use to play my BW deck I didn't want to get the Tundras because of how much they cost but after going to a few tournaments I learned how important they are.
July 11, 2014 10:44 p.m.
Oh I never really considered this a tournament worthy deck. More of a deck to torment friends with, haha.

If you want a new card that gives choices and its a creature, try Indulgent Tormentor
