My goodness that's a lot of feedback...

SpiritFangz, I'm running Counterspell over It-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named because right now, this deck is barely hinging on playable in my playgroup. Complete Meta decision.

N3XT, Svyelunite Temple enters the battlefield tapped, and that's why I don't like it. I want to go off as soon as possible, and turn one not playing anything doesn't help, because my meta is all RDW decks that kill you pretty quickly.

Connorav, thanks for that! I'm going to tell Andy that you would, that way it'll build up his confidence.

Alright I'm confused explain the advantage of Forsaken City over a Island. I see none myself. Imagine this, something decks can't even trump (also the don't have much removal if everyone's aggro. This is really worst case scenario against you for what the opponents have in aggro.

Turn 1:Svyelunite Temple

T2: Island --> Chronatog. Opponent swears and calls you an idiot.

T3: Island --> Orb of Dreams --> Stasis. Opponent lazily Lightning Bolts your Chronatog. You activate his ability. Assuming the opponent played rakdos and had a second turn bounce land and he was at 4 mana he could play Slaughter Pact and kill it (Counterspell is useless in this scenario where as you could play Pact of Negation) these would either left him tapped out or dead.

I understand if you don't want to break your meta but tappedout is not your local game store and you can still change it without alienating your friends.

Here's the point of Forsaken City: If you don't have Chronatog, you can pay for Stasis. The city just makes it so that, worst-case-scenario, you can still win.

Is this the budget version of the deck? If it is, I'm happy with the way the deck plays. My friends still get angry at me because of the way it works.

Anyways, for a non-budgeted version of the deck, have you've thought of replacing Islands with fetch-lands? They help to slightly thin out the deck, and can help if you know that you aren't going to draw well for the next few turns by forcing a shuffle. (One play could is a Turn 2 Brainstorm, putting cards back that you don't want, and then activating the fetch land to shuffle your deck). I believe the cheapest blue fetch land currently is Flooded Strand followed by Polluted Delta.

Of course what makes this deck great is that it is budgeted. But it might be worth a look into using Fetch lands for a non-budgeted version.

Thwart and Foil are decent free counter options if you're trying to find something more free than Counterspell. I have been enlightened on the Chronatog strategy.

@DarkEndLight, This is the budget version of the deck, however I will put the Fetchlands in the Maybeboard, that way if people want to upgrade the deck, they can do so by getting things in the Maybeboard!

@Happymaster19, I really like Foil, I will put that in instead of Counterspell. You're welcome on the strategy BTW!

Non budget lists go U/R and put in Red Elemental Blast and Pyroblast for improved control and countries control, but mainly Ral Zarek instead of Chronatog as the combo piece. This also requires Volcanic Islands. The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale is also effective.

My choice in Foil is that my list runs Treasure Hunt and nearly 40 lands.
