Spirit Mantle is generally better than Holy Mantle .

A really good tech for this deck would be Archangel of Thune . Gives you flying advantage and rewards all of your creatures every time you gain life. Also maybe one or two Elspeth, Sun's Champion . Her +1 has really good synergy with Wayfaring Temple and Voice of Resurgence tokens.

I'll have disagree vishnarg. Grave saves my ass every time it hits the field and bing a huge creatuepu,ps Tristan's and I can make much much more. Friends hate him.

You might consider Nyx-Fleece Ram for your sideboard against aggro. He's a great blocker, he slowly gains you life, and if you topdeck one late while Trostani's on the field, you gain a whole 5 life just for playing it.

Hemi-pwr says... #6

will do. but @notKingCole, what would i switch it for?

December 8, 2014 1:39 p.m.

notKingCole says... #7

Maybe Druid's Deliverance. It only prevents damage once, but I don't know how important that extra populate is for you.

i was thinking on the lines of in my deck when it's time to swap it. I'm thinkinh maybe Loxodon Smiter since many aggro decks don't deal with discarding and usually don't bring out big creatures quick.

Have you considered Fleecemane Lion instead of Call of the Conclave? It does the same thing, a 3/3 for 2, and it literally can't be killed if you get the monstrous ability.

Hemi-pwr says... #10

Call of the conclave pumps out a token..,one that need. Fleecemane is just going to serve as a blocker but with centers being populated, they will serves as the never ending wall instead,

This is irrelevant and unlikely, but ThisIsBullshit, Merciless Eviction can take out Fleecemane.

I know lol but it was one card that is never played in modern so I figured it wasn't worth mentioning

I actually like your build very much. I have seen it couple of times before on front page. There is not much to change in my opinion. Personally I would like to have multiple copies of Parallel Lives and I'm not that big of a fan of Selesnya Charm myself but I understand if people want to use it. I really like the idea of using those auras. If there were any room in my deck, I would definitely add some too.

If I'd do something to this, it would be:

-3 Selesnya Charm
+2 Wake the Reflections
+1 Parallel Lives

Question: do two Parallel Lives on the battle field create an infinite combo?

cooldude145 says... #16

they trigger from the same amount so it is only 3x the counters

@cooldude145: thx. I was considering if it was or not due to the word effect. If they both copied a populate, wouldn't that count as an effect to put another creature down? Idk. You probably know more about that than I. Thx for the reply.

Sigil of the Nayan Gods makes even the weakest token into a monstrous powerhouse. It can also be used on the big guys so that instead of +1/+1 for each creature, they're getting +2/+2.

Consider Mercy Killing to use on your own creatures. An opponent goes to destroy or exile your attacking Temple, and suddenly the guy shatters into an army of elf tokens that buff other "Stronger for each creature you control" guys you have in play.

ZhonLord: oh my I love that sigil. But the hardest part is finding a place for them. If you could, Roy to this and suggest what I should switch out...thx.

Keep everything I say with a grain of salt though, because my expertise lies in b/w tokens as opposed to g/w tokens. With that in mind, Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage is pretty terrible in my opinion. Way too costly to use its abilities. The point of a g/w token deck is to abuse the populate mechanic as best as possible. Armada Wurm, while expensive, can be attained if you have mana ramp. Perhaps Llanowar Elves or something alongside 2 armadas? Spirit Mantle doesn't look it would do much here to be honest. I have similar doubts about Unflinching Courage, but if you attached it to a 5/5 wurm it could get pretty nasty. I personally don't like Rootborn Defenses either, as it causes you to reactive instead of proactive, and I think there are a lot of options that could be available to you turn 4, especially with mana ramp.

Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage: late game populate. I'll have plenty of mana...I always do. Paying four mana to populate is like casting another Advent of the Wurm but instead of a 5/5 it can now be an 8/8 or even a /. I should only have a couple of them but for a definite late game pull, three are nessary.

Spirit Mantle: what would happen if a Wayfaring Temple hit you everything and caused me to populate without you being able to block it! My friend answer this with a finger I'm all to familiar with. Plus it's only two mana...who wouldn't love an unblockable creature for 2?

Unflinching Courage: something extra to push Wayfaring over the top as well as any Wurms, or elementals.

Rootborn Defenses: excellent for spot removal decks as well as any other aggros. This lets me take a free defending turn while populating to attack next turn or to attack full out and see what's being blocked and deduce if it's nessary for them to take no damage and while the board clean.

Llanowar Elves: which is better... This or Birds of Paradise? This only gives one mana color. Main goal is to have both a white and a green mana generator out by turn two.

All good points. Like I said, I'm not an expert on g/w tokens. I would like to make a g/w white token deck when I have the time though. But someone already requested a mardu token build, so I'lll do that first. But I wasn't suggesting to replace your birds with elves, merely add more elves in for maximum effect on ramping in order to insure an early Armada Wurm.

One day I have to play you then. Like I said before, this deck is not a difficult deck to beat but it will distinguish good decks from the bad.

I'd love to play you someday as well. This is the deck I'd be using though. Swarm and Conquer V 2.0

Gulp...if I get first turn I may have chance but I don't do well with control. I can stand my ground but pairing that with 1/1 flyers...meanie. Hopefully life gain can come out soon enough because that seems like that's the only opening I can get unless I have a lucky quick hand. Thx for the help and if you would, come and check out my other decks.
