I want to build Gifts Ungiven, but it runs Liliana of the Veil and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy   so my wallet said no way. So this is budget gifts! A cheaper mana base, no lili or jace despite that they're staples of the archetype, and some budget swaps cut the price down to less than half of a full grown list. I'd like this to be semi-competitive despite being budget, and I think it's almost there. I'd like to cut it down to less than $500 if possible, but I do not want to play a strictly-worse deck any more than I have to. Those are no fun.

Right now the current problems are Merfolk and Delver. They both have counterspells and don't die to board removal or wraths. They are the 2 worst matchups right now, but bloom titan and tron can be tricky as well if they get a fast hand. We lose to a resolved Karn Liberated and early Primeval Titans, but we have good interaction and mainboard land destruction to help us.
