This is a budget (<$200) vampire lifegain/lifeloss deck built mainly for multiplayer games of 4-6 players. I mostly want to improve my mana base, but I know that can be expensive. I also want help splashing white, as I would like to use my Sorin, Solemn Visitor.
Blood Seeker was chosen because of the multiplayer effect. I play lots of token decks, and this can quickly do some damage, especially in multiples.
Bloodbond Vampire
has a great ability for this deck because of the lifegain. It may be able to become a threat quickly.
Archfiend of Depravity's ability is brutal in multiplayer games. It has worked well for me before.
I'm not sure why I have
Kheru Bloodsucker
in here, it is kind of just a place filler.
Drana's Emissary has a pretty good multiplayer affect, and is really good in 3v3 games.
Royal Assassin is in here for fun.
Pulse Tracker
can be good in multiplayer games, but I mostly needed a 1 drop.
Butcher of Malakir may be a bit on the costly side of CMCs, but I think the creature sacrifice might be worth it.
Malakir Bloodwitch is great. The key is where it says each opponent, because if I have 3 vampires out, that can be up to 12 damage at the other team, and I gain life. Also, it has protection from white.
Bloodline Keeper
is a beautiful card. Thanks for the suggestion car!
Dark Ritual is obviously essential for any black deck with a higher CMC.
Exsanguinate is awesome because it says each opponent, and late game with a few Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx's, it is a kill spell.
Whip of Erebos is great for lifelink, along with
Ondu Rising
. Also, Whip has the semi-useful ability to bring things back from the graveyard, good for triggering ETB effects.
Blood Tribute is useful to me because in a 3v3 game, half of an opponent's life total can easily be 30.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor would be fabulous with this deck. His
+1 is great with my lifegain-based deck, and his
-2 can activate vampire triggers. His
-6 isn't extremely good, but I doubt he would last that long anyway.
Liliana of the Dark Realms is included purely for mana ramp. Not the most efficient, but whatever.
Liliana Vess on the other hand, is really useful. I can always +1 to make my opponent cry, but her -2 is much more useful. Finally, with all the sacrificing going on, her -8 is probably an instant win.
Please tell me what you think, and how I can improve it. I would prefer it if any card you suggest is modern legal because they are easier to find, but any format will do. Also, try to keep cards under $10, as I am on a kind of tight budget right now. Thanks.
