So the idea of this deck is to use Milling to make my own creatures stronger. I can win based off Mill, but it doesn't tend to happen often enough, so I went for a more damage based route.
Reasons for cards: Duskmantle: Get around any sort of effect returning cards to the library. Last time I played modern cards like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn destroyed any chance of me Milling, so this got added to do damage instead.
Mind Funeral: A replacement for Mind Grind. Hits 4 land plus whatever is in between for only 3. Seemed good to me.
Go for the Throat: Kill spell. Never leave home without one.
Serum Visions: What's not to like about scry and drawing for a single mana?
Thought Scour: Minor Mill and draw a card for one.
Glimpse the Unthinkable: Can you have a proper Mill deck without this? This plus Duskmantle is half of someone's life.
Jace's Phantasm: Starts off weak, but can be a 5/5 as early as turn 2. Flying is a nice bonus.
Heartless Summoning: This is still there from a previous edition of this deck and needs to be either dropped to 2 or removed. I haven't decided what to swap it with yet.
Consuming Aberration: Gets big quick. When it hits the field if my opponent has a large grave, it'll draw spells to it. Mostly just use it as a blocker and a scapegoat to take abuse as it lacks flying or anything else to let it ever do damage.
Mirko Vosk: Love this card. It's why Heartless Summoning got added in the first place. Turn 3 drop him then turn 4 mill a bunch of cards? Was always great. Still a good card IMO.
Mana Leak: Decent early game counter spell. Probably should switch it for a more powerful one, but I'm not rich and I've been out of the magic scene for a few years, so I'm not up to date.
Jace, Memory Adept: My fave planeswalker. Draws hate to him instead of me, plus when he comes in I can mill for 10.
So I want this competitive, I want to see it doing great in any tournament I play in. If anyone has any advice, share it. If you think a card in here is bad, let me know alternatives and the reason why I should run them over what I have. Last time I played Magic in any form was the end of Return to Ravnica Block, so any cards newer than that I will not know.
