Maybeboard

This deck is built to utilize Animar, Soul of Elements's ability to morph out creatures for free. The morph creatures I chose for this deck are meant to interact with my opponents board (i.e. Icefeather Aven), thus acting like trapcards. Once Animar, Soul of Elements reaches three counters I will be able to morph out my creatures for free. This allows me to use my mana to activate my creature's morph abilities and turn them face up. I have recently added the foretell cards (i.e. Demon Bolt to further the trapcard-esque theme of the deck.

Overall this deck is pretty straight forward:

  1. Morph out creatures
  2. Wait for your opponents to cast something problematic or attack
  3. Activate the morph abilities to save yourself

For example: In response to an opponent attacking you can of course morph a creature like Echo Tracer to bounce one of their creatures. Now assuming Deathmist Raptor is in your graveyard you can bring it back to the battlefield faceup as another blocker that will most likely kill the attacking creature.

Seedborn Muse will further enable you to morph creatures on other peoples turns as the abilities are pretty mana intensive if multiple must be used in succession.

The win here is also simple. You just amass a huge board morphing out creatures for free then drop Pathbreaker Ibex or Overwhelming Stampede to pump your 2/2's into potential threats. Animar, Soul of Elements will definitely make Pathbreaker Ibex be a killing blow. Keep in mind Dropping a ton of creatures in one turn will definitely incentivize your opponents to cast a boardwipe so make sure you have haste thru cards like Fires of Yavimaya or utilize flash effects (i.e. Vedalken Orrey to set up the turn prior to end the game the coming turn.

An easy way to win is to use Primordial Mist and Tidespout Tyrant. This combo as usual requires that Animar, Soul of Elements has three counters and you have a morph creature on the battlefield or in hand. Using Primordial Mist you may exile and recast a morph creature like Den Protector for its morph cost (which is free with Animar). You can repeat this process indefinitely making Animar an unstoppable monster, but more importantly you can utilize cast triggers. Therefore, assuming Tidespout Tyrant is on the battlefield every time you morph out your creature you can bounce a permanent. And because you can infinitely recast a morph creature using Primordial Mist you can bounce your opponent's entire board (including lands), which will shut them out of the game. I removed this combo from the game as it became too easy and too repetitive, but all the power to you.

Another way to win would be using ETB triggers to ping your opponents using cards like Warstorm Surge or Terror of the Peaks. Animar, Soul of Elements enables this combo by allowing you to morph several creatures onto the battlefield at once, and paired with card draw (i.e. Beast Whisperer) will enable you to reload your ammo to continue pinging your opponents life. Otherwise, like the previous combo, Primordial Mist will make this combo go infinite and you can ping all of your opponents to death. If you use Primordial Mist you won't need card draw for this combo.

You can also take the deck towards a more lands focused synergy to utilize Yedora, Grave Gardener. If you choose to do so hydras may be the better creature theme to utilize all the ramp. You can include cards like:

  1. Ashaya, Soul of the Wild
  2. Avenger of Zendikar
  3. Living Lands
  4. Unbound Flourishing
  5. Scapeshift
