Hardly an original idea, by the way. I thank Mono Black Magic (on YouTube) for the basics. I just have expanded.
The main combo of this deck is complicated and needs a lot of pieces, but it gives out an infinite amount of creatures. The combo requires the following:
1 of the following in your graveyard, and one of the following in your hand:
Infuriate
,
Shock
,
Purphoros's Intervention
. Repeats are fine, actually more helpful. Then on the battlefield, you need 1
Orvar, the All-Form
, 1
Birgi, God of Storytelling
, and 1
Shipwreck Dowser
. You technically only need this to pull off the combo, but extra blue land on the field and also counters (like
Miscast
) should be there to keep it safe. The combo is activated by targeting the
Shipwreck Dowser
with an
Infuriate
, a
Shock
(it should survive 1
Shock
, it has 3 toughness), or using 1 red mana to use the
Purphoros's Intervention
's second ability. If you target it for 1 red mana, 0 damage is dealt and the combo still goes off! The combo then proceeds to use the stack and copy
Shipwreck Dowser
. Then, with its Enter The Battlefield ability, you grab that second 1-drop red spell from your graveyard, and target either the first or second
Shipwreck Dowser
with it, with the mana provided by
Birgi, God of Storytelling
preferably. And this should go on until you get bored, something is countered, or the opponent sees their ship is quite wrecked.
To set this all up, it takes a long time, at least 6 turns if you start with everything you need in your hand. That is this deck's weakness. But counterspells (10 of them) will help keep stuff from going away when it does make it to the field.
Now, the combo has in fact been expanded, with the release of Strixhaven. With red, infinite treasure tokens are possible in the combo. Just have a
Storm-Kiln Artist
out there. Later, you could grab a copy of
Crackle with Power
and deal 5 times...a lot of damage, to a lot of targets. That's about it, suggestions welcome!
