you cant play a token as a commander

harkIt is not a token, Withengar Unbound  ^Flip is just the other face of Elbrus, the Binding Blade  ^Flip, offcourse it is not a legendary creature either, that is why you could just use Korlash, Heir to Blackblade in it's place, the thing about Withengar Unbound  ^Flip is the looks it has and his "when a player loses the game..." ability.

I'd also like to point out that you cannot use the transformed side of cards as commanders either. Legendary or not. That being said, if you have a house rule that allows you to do this, more power to you. How do you intend to cast him though since his mana cost is non-existent?

As i said in the description, this is a Elbrus, the Binding Blade  ^Flip deck, the image you see in the commander place, is just an alter i made from the other part Withengar Unbound  ^Flip... just trade for a monoblack commander if the people you play don't let you use it, hope you like the deck.

So you're using the legendary artifact as your commander instead?

If that's the case, then add more mana rocks to pump him out as fast as you can: Thran Dynamo, Grim Monolith, Basalt Monolith, Worn Powerstone, Metalworker, Mana Vault or Mana Crypt.

Dark Ritual and Cabal Ritual also help getting you mana.

The Swords of X and X (i.e. Sword of Feast and Famine) all help you get through to the defending player. As do Loxodon Warhammer, O-Naginata, Prowler's Helm, and Hot Soup.

Considering the Withengar Unbound  ^Flip and a voltron strategy:

Thran Dynamo, Worn Powerstone: i used them, but changed for the mana doublers Caged Sun and Gauntlet of Power.

Grim Monolith, Basalt Monolith, Mana Vault: Not a big fan of then, but i do see that they are good the main problem is knowing how much ramp and which to use. Any suggestion?

Metalworker: not sure if it would work in the deck since the majority of 19 the artifacts are mana rocks or are setup to be put in play as soon as possible.

Mana Crypt: for some reason i forgot it, i'm always with duel commander in mind, need space for it, any suggestion?

Dark Ritual and Cabal Ritual: consider them with low consistency, and the fact that the commander don't have protection in it, it just don't look like a good idea putting him online hasty and without preparation.

The Swords of X and X: they are excellent, but i do think we don't need the effects that much, and there are better ways to get evasion and protection, and we would still need a plenty of space or them...

Loxodon Warhammer:Excellent idea, already thinking of it or Batterskull for the lifelink.

O-Naginata:Not good since he is already 13 power, so 16 won't change the clock, and already has trample.

Prowler's Helm: Since we it is pretty rare to see a wall, this one is a good idea, just need the room for it.

Hot Soup:Don't like the possibility of getting destroyed by the counter effect.

Well, I suggested the equipment with trample like O-Naginata and the Swords for the purpose of the creature equipped with Elbrus, the Binding Blade  ^Flip, because the creature has to be able to hit the player to transform him.

I'd drop the Myojin of Night's Reach for Mana Crypt. 8 mana in a black deck is a lot, and for the only benefit of nuking your opponents hands once. Other than that, the Myojin doesn't serve your commander or other synergies.

Thanks bro, but is not my idea, i so him as an unofficial commander in EDHREC, and now i'm trying to make it the more competitive possible without going infect, land destruction or infinity combos, for a nice playability, +1 upvote are welcome and gives the deck visibility.

Seems pretty solid. I'd say the biggest problem is a lack of creatures, since if there isn't anyone to hold Elbrus there is no way to get Withengar, but you've got a bunch of tutors to make up for it. Like others have suggested you might need some ramp/rituals to get the blade out. You also have a bunch of discard effects, so maybe something to make use of those (Waste Not, Geth's Grimoire, etc.). I also really like Brass Squire for Elbrus. Instant speed re-equip makes combat incredibly annoying when one touch brings out a monster like Withengar.
