klone13 good point, maybe Spectral Procession instead? I want to keep it /.

Are you having issues hitting triple white in this deck? It seems by your mana base on average you will hit it turn 5ish? This deck is a little slow, so the control package helps a lot. That being the case, you are not a tempo deck like merfolk who just Remand until they can swing around you and get bigger. Blue Moon reminds just to cast Blood Moon and prevent you from casting it again. That being the case, I would really replace at least 3 of the Remands with Mana Leak. I'm not saying don't include it, throwing an opponent off curve is incredibly helpful. As for good spirits in your colors, Azorius Herald, Dreamcatcher, Eidolon of Rhetoric, Spirit of the Labyrinth, Suture Spirit, and Twilight Drover. Not saying you should include all these by any means, these are spirit creatures I see that can be powerful in a tribal deck, or in their own right. Best of luck!!

Kira is a bit redundant with drogskol. Kataki, War's Wage will help vs affinity and whatnot while Kami of Ancient Law helps vs boggles, and Spirit of the Labyrinth slows aggo and stops storm. Windborn Muse also helps vs aggro. If you are looking for black spirits, Thief of Hope offers incrimental advantage and spirit recursion. Disowned Ancestor and Will-o'-the-Wisp offers good defence. Tallowisp can find your call of the kindred.

Scytec, thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely replace the Remands, you make a lot of sense. It also helps with my budget! As for the creatures, the only one I can imagine putting in the deck is Dreamcatcher. I like how I can get the draws.
November 10, 2015 9:43 p.m.
Yes, card draw is important, that is why I included him. :) Also, the Spirit of the Labyrinth and Eidolon of Rhetoric make good sideboard additions vs storm especially, but also other decks. :p

RoarMaster, I already have Kataki, War's Wage in the SB. Kami of Ancient Law is a good suggestion, I'll keep it in mind. Spirit of the Labyrinth is an interesting suggestion. I think it could go either way. I'll put it in the maybeboard. Windborn Muse looks like a great add! It stops Twin and aggro. I'll put it in for Pithing Needle. Tallowisp is also a maybeboard card. I'm still not sold on splashing though.

On Lingering Souls: I think splashing 1 Godless Shrine and a few more white fetches just for Lingering Souls is worth it. LS is way easier to cast than Spectral Procession, and nets you one more token. And they're awesome because they can fly. Unlike SP, it's resistant to counters and discard (because its value is even better for the flashback cost). It helps you immediately recover from a board wipe (from hand or yard), or it helps you by keeping a threat on tap in the yard to make people hesitate with a boardwipe or counter. You also get card advantage because you cast it twice, and pseudo-advantage because each casting makes two permanents. It's just so damn good, and there aren't many ways for opponents to deal with it effectively. I'm not saying you should cut all the SPs necessarily, but I am saying LS is a much better card and you wouldn't have to tweak much to be able to use it well.
On the rest: Door of Destinies is great, but Favorable Winds might be slightly more efficient and thus worth considering. Moorland Haunt might do some good work for you, and you have room for a couple utility lands. Lastly, in a deck with countermagic for protection, Godhead of Awe could be a great 1-of.

formayor, you make a good point about the splash. I think that I will splash black for Lingering Souls. I'm not sold on Favorable Winds. It helps out a lot of my creatures, certainly, but it misses Geist of Saint Traft and Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit. I may eventually put it in as a 1-of if my meta has more artifact hate, but until then, I'll stick with Door of Destinies. I'll put in Moorland Haunt. I like how I can use my 'yard with it. Godhead of Awe is interesting, though. I can see putting it in as a finisher, but it's kind of expensive. Do you have any suggestions for nonlegendary Spirits that I can get with Call to the Kindred? It often turns up legendary creatures that I already have.

I like the deck, I've always wanted to finish my Esper spirits deck, but still haven't got around to it... Anywho, you have a similar base as to what I was considering; however, I think you could cut at least 2 copies of Call to the Kindred, it just comes down a little late to have no immediate impact.
Spirit cards i that I like that you don't have yet are Azorius Herald (good against aggressive/ burn decks and provides consistent damage, especially if you have a captain out there) and Eidolon of Countless Battles (would get even better if you could find room for 1-2 copies of Spectral Procession back), and Beckon Apparition would be great sideboard for graveyard hate.
I think the deck could be fast enough that something to consider would be taking most of the counter spells out (could leave 4-5) and making the deck more aggressive by adding more spirits or spirit token makers and then backing them up with the 4th Path to Exile and 1 or 2 black removal spells. Just a thought though.

I really like how you built this deck, so here is my +1! Feel free to check my Spirit deck, Don't Touch my Spirits (Turn 5 Win) if you want some idea :D

I like tallowisp btw. maybe add a package of more enchants.

The above comment is right that Azorius Herald seems like a decent non-legendary value creature. So does Stormbound Geist.
One issue you might find with finding finishers to cheat out with Call to the Kindred is that a lot of Spirit cards have abilities that are related to Auras or Blinkng, which aren't always super-relevant in your deck. So assuming your criteria are non-legend Spirits in UW that aren't impossible to cast:
Tallowisp is kind of cool for helping you get Call to the Kindred, allowing you to run fewer copies, and maybe chuck in something like Steel of the Godhead or another useful Aura.
Lone Revenant is underwhelming, but it's still a 4/4 hexproof.
I don't really like Drogskol Reaver or Sire of the Storm, but you could potentially cheat either out and have some serious card advantage.

Javaz, thanks! Your deck is really well built. It seems like a lot of fun to play.
formayor, I really like Azorius Herald and Tallowisp. I really do. The thing is, I can only see a few spots to put them in. If I take out Kira, Great Glass-Spinner (her ability is offset by Drogskol Captain), then I have a total of 3 or 4 spots, depending on how many Call to the Kindreds I take out. I'll put them in to see how I like the deck. Also, I played Drogskol Reaver in my old, totally casual Spirit deck, and I often found that it was either a dead draw or a great turn-5 play with Call to the Kindred. I'd like to keep the curve low, and I think that having Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit's counters help with the creatures.

Azorius Charm is pretty good. I'd run 1-2 of them. The lifegain is great vs burn, the bounce to top is fantastic for forcing your opponent to re-delve, and it's a great tempo play regardless, and the card draw gives you an end of turn play when you leave mana up and don't use it.
I love the deck idea! Good luck!

aves01 - Yeah all those cards are marginal. Though I do like Tallowisp plus an extra Aura - to both lower the curve a bit and not end up with Kindreds dead in hand (or Tallowisps, either). The idea behind the bigger dudes is that if you're going to build around something like Kindred, you may as well have 1-2 things that are really killer to cheat out with it. You may only want to put them on the sideboard for games vs. Control or Midrange. And I still think Godhead of Awe is the best of the bunch, and easily slots in for 1 Dungeon Geists.
November 11, 2015 9:28 p.m.
Figag- I'll throw it in there for Dispel. The counterspells are really only there to make room for my Spirits--the deck's fast enough to have creatures out.
formayor, thank you so much for your seemingly never-ending ability to pull great ideas out of nowhere! I'll slot the Godhead of Awe in the deck, and I think that I'll stick with the SB as it is. I might throw them in later if my meta changes a bit.

I personally wouldn't bother running Godhead of Awe. It is a good card when you have a Drogskol Captain out, but it's lack of protection makes me want something like Spectral Procession instead.
November 21, 2015 4:55 p.m.
Considering you lowish mana curve, would you ever consider an AEther Vial or two.
December 2, 2015 8:33 p.m.
lemmingllama, Godhead of Awe is there as a 1-of because of the synergy with Drogskol Captain. Often, opponents waste a removal spell on it, and it's a trade I will gladly make. However, when it is out. it forces the opponent onto a 5 (hopefully less, depending on the amount of Captains I have out) turn-clock, which really forces their hands.
Quarion65, I love the idea of AEther Vial(especially with so many 2 and 3-drops!) but I'm not sure what to take out for it. Any suggestions?
December 2, 2015 8:41 p.m.
If you are just looking for one, I would maybe take out the Supreme Verdict and put it in the sideboard instead. Beyond that, I am not sure.
