A few thoughts (thoughts, pick and choose what you like :P)

  1. I'd devote myself to the Undercity Informer || Undead Alchemist combo, and run four of each (if you want to go that route of course).
  2. With a lack of ramp, I think Mind Grind is much better than Increasing Confusion . I have been argued with this before though. Regardless, I suggest running them as a 3-of at an absolute max.
  3. I'm not a fan of the enchantment-mill cards. I'd remove them and mainboard a combination of Dimir Charm , Cyclonic Rift , and Jace's Phantasm .
  4. With the duals you run, it is possible to easily run 3-4 Nephalia Drownyard s
  5. I don't like Balustrade Spy that much, change him out for Jace's Phantasm ?
  6. Codex Shredder !!! It's excellent in practice.

Again, just my two cents. Feel free to pick and choose what suggestions you like!

I didn't see that before. that Undead Alchemist + Undercity Informer combo is pretty sweet. but it's still midgame. earliest turn 4. same problem I have with Trep blade.

Ok so if you guys haven't guessed this deck is designed to mill every time I play a mana. Balustrade Spy is here not only as a flyer, not only to mill, but also because I've just always wanted to use him

Balustrade Spy might be better in a flicker style mill. so that you can keep using his "enters battlefield" effect

dbrannon says... #9

True, but if he becomes obsolete I can either use him for damage or sack him for informer. So either way he's useful

I like the set up you got going here. I actually have a mill deck posted, could you take a look at it and give me some tips? It's When in doubt...Mill them out!

This looks like a pretty solid mill deck man, even when it starts slow it seems like it can get brutal. I playtested it a few times against my aggro deck, bc im trying to figure out what I can do to protect my deck from mill. But this whooped the aggro deck twice. +1 from me dude

Best defenses vs milling is Tamiyo, the Moon Sage and Elixir of Immortality

thanks man! I dont run blue so I couldnt use tamiyo, but Im definitely going to bring some elixirs with me to FNM tonight

insist that you need cheaper creatures, even having deaths approach it is not and instant and a haste creature pumped can damage you a lot in turn 2 and 3, your removals starts at turn 3 and and agro deck can have 3 creatures in that turn. try to mix creatures with cheap removals in your advantage like tragic slip. please rate and comment my deck, suggestions open.

So... one just one thing.

4 Increasing Confusion is waaay too much. You want to use that as your finisher, not as a means to an end. Your build-up turns are far more valued than to just tap out and mill for 4.

I suggest going down to 2 Increasing Confusion and throw in 2 Mindshrieker for some fun/better play.

But is it a good deck?

Vos_Is_Boss says... #20

Yeah :D I have a similar one, that i made awhile ago, TM 29

Seems like it could be competitive... maybe more fun than competitive, but still good. Plus One from me

I think that you need to have more removals... What its the plan for fast aggro decks like rakdos or naya humans?

Ah, I see what you did there with Undead Alchemist feeding Undercity Informer . +1 for creativity. With a little bit of untapped mana, that combo could do some serious mill work. I've been working on putting together a B/U deck myself and looked at dozens of these decks, first time I've seen that synergy though. I like it more than the Mortus Strider approach.

Good deck, but I would add Mind Grind somewhere

Jace's Phantasm should 100% be in the main I'd say for Balustrade Spy as it is a lower cost and most likely by turn 3 a 5/5
