When I playtested, I drew Martyr of Sands and Serra Ascendant on the opening hand and went to town. The speed there is ridiculous. Very nice.

bdb20 Thank you! You're right, those two are really good in the opening hand and they can be very difficult to deal with.

Sunbond seems like a card that's as powerful and easier to cast than Celestial Mantle. Just put it on a lifelink creature, and you'll gain life, get counters, gain double life, etc. Combined with Ordeal of Heliod for example, it can get out of hand REALLY quickly, the amount of life that you gain.

Sigh, early morning I guess.. Ordeal of Heliod is still my preference over ajani's Mantra. A sunbonded creature triggers it immediately, and even if you don't have it, it will certainly outpace 10 upkeeps, while buffing your creatures.

Subject134127 You're right that Ordeal of Heliod has more initial lifegain, although I'm not sure if it's worth it to switch it out since games with this deck seems to get somewhat long, except if you have Martyr of Sands and Serra Ascendant in your opening hand.

Ajani's Pridemate?

Sn@pple First off, great username! :) Second off pridemate wouldn't really fit in in the deck. Here I gain as much life as I can, while with pridemate you try to get as many instances of lifegain as possible. But pridemate is amazing with soul sisters :)

You really shouldn't play cards that specifically gain you life. Have more utility cards, rather than pointless lifegain effects. Lifegain means nothing if you're not abusing it, or not taking advantage of it in a self-inflicting deck.

This is not a self-inflicting deck, so you should work on abusing lifegain as much as possible, rather than just gaining life for no reason.

JexInfinite The point of gaining life is to boost Serra Ascendant and Divinity of Pride, activate Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant and if needed, Felidar Sovereign. Also the lifegain will also hurt other players a lot from the time Sunbond hits the field. The lifegain isn't pointless...

It's obvious the guy wanted to theme this deck as lifelink. Of course it's not hardcore competetive. Although it's lookin pretty boss man. Kudos

Ralzarek Thank you! You're probably right, though the deck is meant as a modern legal casual deck if that makes any sense. I mostly play against the same people in a casual setting so it doesn't need to be all that competitive. I just like to know that my decks are modern legal so I could use them in tournaments if I wanted :)

If you can squeeze them, Boon Reflections are great for TRULY ABSURD life gain. They stack. With four out, you gain 16 times more life.
