I can't think of the card, but I remember playing lots of Rain of Tears 20 years ago... I think there is/was a red version at some point...

+1! i love land destroyer decks! i suggest Viashino Heretic, a good artifact destroyer with damage, especially on permanents (of course with the help of Liquimetal Coating )

A little Karn, Silver Golem with Mycosynth Lattice never hurt anybody. Except for everybody around you, that is.

i think you should add a search deck. this is my best suggestion.-2 Elvish Mystic because you don't really need it, -2 Ancient Stirrings and +4 Diabolic Tutor because it will help you get Myr Landshaper and Liquidmetal coating. -4 Forest because you have Copperline Gorge and Rootbound Crag +4 Swamp for Diabolic Tutor. Then maybe add some lands that do red and black mana.+1

yeah what Lord said. Karn, Silver Golem + Liquimetal Coating or Mycosynth Lattice = repeatedly remove 1 land from play for 1 mana. technically its not LD but it will do the job ;)

Just a few suggestions: Stone Rain, Molten Rain and Tectonic Edge :)

Cool deck! How does it do against aggro?

February 17, 2015 5:21 p.m.

If it was a different format Dingus Egg would be nice in here.

focus your SB on your two biggest threats, Control and Aggro. Fog for starters

Rings of Brighthearth, Sculpting Steel, Phyrexian Metamorph might all be good considerations

Pretty good Affinity matchup.

I don't know if you have explained the Viridian Corrupter's Infect yet, but Manic Vandal is much easier to cast.

RoosterAfro the reason to use Whipflare instead of Pyroclasm is that nearly every other non-land card is anti-artifact. He can also protect his own creatures from Whipflare with Liquimetal Coating.

maybe Ingot Chewer

Great deck! +1

Stone Rain was what I was thinking of when I said Rain of Tears, but Molten Rain might be better with the current meta - plus it's the same cmc in a mono deck so no reason to take stone rain.

I like this deck. I been testing it on Cockatrice to see if I might considering breaking in to modern with it but it just get blown away before you can really be effective. I am curious exactly how you are piloting the deck to pull off the combos fast enought to be effective. I am wondering if running Voltaic Key might help. Or maybe something like Destructive Revelry or Smash to Smithereens were you can shock/bolt them at the same time. Oxidize is slightly better than Smelt. With the Mycosynth Lattice method Vandalblast seems good.

I know its sorcery but Meltdown X=0 would work for taking out more than one artifact land for one mana.

Possible sideboard card Mogg Salvage

Meltdown isn't Modern legal.

It was a nice thought, though.
