I haven't tried out Black Market Connections, but I've had my eye on it for a while. My first thought was that a 3 mana enchantment that doesn't do anything until the next turn is too slow. But thinking about it more, it honestly does a lot for just one 3-mana card. I could see myself paying life for 2-3 modes each turn, since we can often pressure our opponents' life totals more than the continued life loss will hurt us. If I can get my hands on one I'll give it a try. If you've been testing it out, let me know how it's been for you!

Really awesome breakdown and card list. Have you played with the idea of Isochron Scepter for further library manipulation using tutors or counterspells / Cyclonic Rift for board control?

I'm not a huge fan of Isochron Scepter in the deck because we don't want to play a long-value based game, nor can we use it unfairly (e.g., Dramatic Reversal). While I do have a lot of spells that would be good to put under an Isochron Scepter, I'd much rather use the extra 2 mana and a card to interact with the board or hold up counterspells.

Have you considered Spy Network as a top deck manipulator? It could replace Gitaxian Probe to give an additional top deck manipulator and the ability to view your opponent’s hand as well as the top of their library. I have found it to be useful in a pinch. Sorry if it has already been mentioned in a previous comment.

Hey MrNoCards I actually haven't seen Spy Network before, cool suggestion!

In the "topdeck manipulation" category, I look for 3 things: 1. Does it replace itself? (ex. Ponder) 2. Is it repeatable? (ex. Sensei's Divining Top) 3. Will it guarantee I find a big/useful spell? (ex. Vampiric Tutor)

Spy Network doesn't fit any of these criteria, so I don't think it makes the cut. Gitaxian Probe gets around this because it cantrips and costs 0 mana (both of which are important, I wouldn't play Peek, for example).

I'm currently on a budget so what do you think on cards like Pact of Negation and Foil to replace Force of Will and Force of Negation, also Baleful Mastery to replace Snuff Out?
