Battleship Zacama I built this deck from my Marath Deck. Marath was based on playing mana group hug but then using the mana better than my opponents. This was a fun build for Marath, but it had its limitations and still required counter doubling effects. Zacama almost seems to be a direct answer to the biggest problems I had with Marath.

Mana Dumping to get Marath into play for the 5th time was satisfying because by then he would enter as an absolute monster, but it also meant I had to wait a full rotation of the board to have mana for his abilities. Nothing sucks quite as much as seeing all the mana you spent shot down by top deck removal. Zacama answers that problem perfectly. He turns “Cast Commander, Pass Turn” into a terrifying power play.

Enchantment/Artifact Hate is on thong Marath could never do on his own. It always required drawing the right cards. Sure, that’s true for most...all commanders ever, but that doesn’t I have to accept that imitation. Zacama sure doesn’t accept that limitation.
